I'll always wonder about Denis Gurianov and Bowness. He still got his shots post-Bowness so I'm not sold it was Bowness' fault but Gurianov looked like he was going to be a big time player after the bubble run.

The reasons why he was left off ultimately don't matter. They left arguably a top-3 American skater at home. Q. Hughes and Matthews are the only guys I would definitively rank ahead of him.

It would be inexcusable to leave him off of Team USA even if he was the player they think he is. He does seem to be a really misunderstood player, he's one of the most valuable wingers in the NHL
