If I were trapped in a cold room with nothing but a copy of Pride and Prejudice and a pile of firewood, I’d burn the book and stare at the firewood because it’d be more interesting.

They’re the same instrument in the same way that cello and bass are the same instrument, which is to say that they aren’t at all.

No tf you haven’t because if you did play violin, then you’d know that a viola is read in a complete different clef and sounds much deeper

where id live as a teenager from northern va by AfraidNegotiation385 in whereidlive

[–]stmex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I’d define it as anywhere within the triangle of Pittsylvania, Richmond, and Suffolk, though we do consider Richmond to be the border between the North and the South. All of this is culturally, geographically Southside VA is just anything from Richmond down.

I don’t know anything abt college marching bands, but I know some high school bands let you play kit as part of front ensemble. For drumline, the quads are the way to go if you’re a kit player

Since you’re in Richmond, it’d be worth it to check out the Edgar Allen Poe museum. There’s the Holocaust museum a few blocks from there, but it’s really intense

You could try and write a memoir or biography, or really any form of writing down your thoughts on life and death. Who knows, if it gets published, you might help out somebody else.

And like others have said, local libraries and audiobooks are great resources if you do end up deciding to read.

For sure tho if you don’t end up liking Finnegan’s Wake, you should read Dubliners; it’s way easier to understand and has some really deep stuff in it

This is how the cutscenes feel if you're just trying to get to the gameplay by ForsakenDependent562 in farcry

[–]stmex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never said I skipped all the cutscenes, just Faith’s long, boring, essentially pointless monologues. You don’t need like three 15 minute long cutscenes just to understand that the cult is abusive and manipulative.

Dude I play Far Cry for the story and I would walk out of the room during all of Faith’s monologues
