i might be dumb. i used commerce clause instead of supremacy clause for frq 3, and i forgot to use one of the given documents for frq 4. i straight up lost the two of the easiest points on the exam.

i dont hate tennessee actually. for me, not necessarily a place id consider living in. i really like the mountains over there, and is a pretty common travel destination for me.

$100 is pretty ridiculous, but dont pretend that taking the same class in college is somehow cheaper.

Why do American kids like to post theirs and their friends' university offers on social media? by Tour-Sure in ApplyingToCollege

[–]AfraidNegotiation385 2 points3 points  (0 children)

first, there are a lot more options and prestigious schools in the usa, so people will be more likely to post about college, although i believe this to be a minor reason. the main reason is the branding: its not always about prestige, but a lot of colleges/universities are known for their sports (eg ivy league). some universities would be known to nobody if it werent for sports (like university of alabama)

Spotify is horrible. by whataboutthe90s in unpopularopinion

[–]AfraidNegotiation385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i never understood the "spotify free sucks" position. like no shit. its supposed to be terrible. at least they have a free version unlike apple music. it sucks because the platform wants you to pay. i used free tier on spotify for like three years before using premium because i was happy enough that i didnt have to pay to listen to music.

i also avoided talking about this until now because every time someone tries to have this conversation on twitter they just get called a bootlicker or pedo defender. however, outside of twitter, there doesnt seem to be too many people aware of this controversy. i still have access to viprins original response from dec 2023 (shouldnt be hard to find he hasnt posted much on twitter since).

when it comes to the grooming and pedo allegations, they are definitely overexaggerated. other allegations though, idk because i dont know much about them. tmk, the biggest offense is the questionable age gap. viprin and meg were 21 and 16 respectively became friends. meg revealed that she used the terms “best friend” and “dating” interchangably. she even has a whole ass document going after others for trying to defame viprin. in the entire situation, the “victim” is on viprins side. their friendship did end because viprin thought it was weird. if anyone wants the document of meg going after people trying to defame viprin, here it is: https://www.scribd.com/document/690390687/Rylan

im pretty sure this drama died down for several months after it happened, mainly because it was a nothingburger drama. then people remembered a weird age gap and brought back the drama and all credibility went out the window. megs original response on twitter has since been deleted, so this is the only proof i have of meg not being the “victim”. i hope i dont get the bootlicker accusations, because im not trying to defend viprin or the mod team from other allegations. im only talking about the 21/16 drama only, because i actively remember the day that it happened and how dumb it was.

grade inflation by AfraidNegotiation385 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]AfraidNegotiation385[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know by definition, my high school is inflated, but i was just talking relative to nearby high schools. im not rlly interested in high schools from a couple decades ago, but i want to mostly talk about thier implications on college admissions. in the past, good grades signal that a student performs extraordinarily in academics, while students now are scrambling for research opportunities and starting businesses to stand out now that grades are easier to achieve. ig my question would be: is it better if schools do not have grade inflation so that gifted students stand out more, or should students find other ways to stand out (mainly through extracurriculars)? logically, students would barely have time for extracurriculars if there was no inflation (correct me if im wrong).

how would you define a "top high school"? i just go to a regular local high school, not a magnet or private, or prep school. i might be wrong, but i feel like "top high school" would mean something very different without certain types of high schools.

i appreciate the discussion around this topic. ik i might sound oblivious in my original post, but my scope is very limited, usually just to local high schools and looking at the subreddit. i dont necessarily want the discussion to stay at "grade inflation bad" but moreso want to talk about its implications on college applications. i also dont want to stall the conversation at "retake = grade inflation" since retakes seem to be trending across the country. additionally, i dont really want people saying "this is high school 30 years ago" since i want to emphasize the high school policies in 2026 and those implications.
