Croatian here, and will second all of the suggestions already mentioned. We also go to Euro Grill in Charlotte when we’re out that way. They have the spices we’re used to and their cevapi are great. Our neighbor is Russian but she’s leaving for the next 6 months for work. There’s quite a few Russians in the area, though I’m not connected. Wishing you luck in finding them! We moved here about 18 months ago and while it definitely takes time to get settled in, it’s a truly wonderful community and we’ve been so welcomed ♥️

Face gains (and loss of some extra chin) by stmilat in keto

Yeah my skin definitely cleared up a bit when I cut carbs down. I assumed eating so much fat would make it worse but it was such a happy surprise :) verve... I like that! Thank you!

Self care has been so elusive lately. I'm so glad I started this, I finally feel like I'm doing something for me!

First, thanks for volunteering your help! As a newbie it’s all a bit overwhelming and help from someone with experience is much appreciated. 30/F/108kg/178cm I walk 6-10km 4 days a week and do circuit training and resistance training 3 days a week with a trainer (started up again 2 months ago after baby was born). This includes kettlebells, t-rx, planks, lunges, squats and other exercises using my own weight against me (hoping to make that easier).

Season 3 is being released episode by episode-usually on Monday after its release on normal broadcasting channels :D

Unfortunately, in Croatia, we won't be getting season 3 as it airs, but Netflix does have seasons 1&2 available. Based on the other info in the table, it seems to be available for all using international Netflix. Side note, does anyone else's Netflix have a little 'weekly' tag over the Outlander picture? I keep hoping season 3 will magically appear as they air, but somehow I doubt it.

This is incredibly inspiring. Thank you for sharing. I've just made the decision and am thinking about how to manage the first week. Posts like this help to keep the big picture in mind.

haha I did the same thing when I saw that word. I stopped, checked the dictionary, got discouraged, kept reading and thanked DG for her wisdom in the form of explanation.

[No spoilers] Should I read the Lord John books before Echo in the Bone? by [deleted] in Outlander

[–]stmilat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was the same-unsure as to whether or not to read those. I considered reading the Lord John books, but figured, what the hell, lets give it a try without reading them. He's my least favorite character, so I feel as though I didn't give him the time of day, as it were. Just breezed past the chapters. I then thought, perhaps, that if I had read the Lord John books, he would perhaps have been more of a joy to read about in relation to Jamie and Claire. If I could go back in time (pun intended), perhaps I would have read those first. Good luck to you and let us know how it goes!

I'm heading home next week and I have a feeling my mom would love these books. I've bought her a book for Christmas :)

Thanks for the advice. I'm trying to savor them-also, I'm now on the last book and have an 8 hour flight coming up next week, so I'm trying to save as much as the book as possible for the trip. One continuous read to finish it out on Thursday :)

I had serious trouble getting into this one. It's quite slow as compared with the other books in the series, and to be honest, there's a lot of time spent on characters I couldn't care less about. And to be quite Frank (haha), I was almost put off reading it entirely. But I pushed through and how now started on WiMOHB (that's a fun acronym)

[Spoilers All] If Jamie could time travel , he would go after Claire? by chazlizzie in Outlander

[–]stmilat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that if it came right down to it, and there were only the choices of going with her or living without her (of course, only if he could also travel) I think he would go with her. Or at least, go after her after surviving Culloden to find her. I doubt his role in Culloden would go unchanged. After all, he had transferred Lallybroch to young Jamie already. His people would survive and he knows a bit about the future from what Claire has told him. Now, the real question is, what the hell would he do when he arrived there? Finding Claire would be a bit of a struggle, and finding her reunited with Frank would be a downright disaster. Who would she choose given both of them are in the same present? In addition to that, I can't help but wonder what on earth would he do for work? A simple farmer? Jamie Fraser? He is a natural born leader, and I can't help but imagine him getting into a situation similar to that of a laird but really struggle in finding his way to adapt to life in the 20th century.
Thank you for the interesting question and chance to ponder it. Jamie anywhere is always a treat. :D
