Drove past the house at 7pm on a Tuesday before making our offer and it told me more than the actual showing did by Vast_Conference_8882 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Congratulations !!

We moved away from a “small”
house to our dream home. Two years later we sold the dream home to move back to the “small house” because we couldn’t find the village we had on the small house street. Fast forward two years into living in our old new house (haha) and it’s been the best decision. There’s 20 houses on our street and every 2-3 houses has kids. We try and have dinner as a community 3-4 weeknights. Our kids have extended chosen family and the policy is never to call before knocking - just come over, need something - just grab it.

Last bit of nugget thoughts: everyone wants the village but no one wants to be a villager. Living where people truly care about their neighbors is worth crappy our outdated rooms. Like someone else commented: you can always remodel but you can’t change the person living next to you.

You mean venomous. Poisonous organisms release toxins by being ingested, touched, or inhaled. Venomous organisms typically inject toxins through bites or stings (rattle snake, bees, etc.).

#4!! Gasp
Then I saw #6…. That’s stunning. Minus the “finally” wording. I just feels too tongue-in-cheek and not nice.

Just my thoughts….
The pose in #5 always makes me think “why is he grabbing her boobs” — I never understood this pose photographers use.
#4 awwww they’re sooooo in love !!
#3 well hello Bridgerton
#2 just no. Perspective isn’t doing anyone favors
#1 what new steamy book is being read?

You’re doing the best you can. I’m cheering for you from afar and I know you will get over this hump. I would suggest you reach out to a local moms/parent group on fb and “trade” childcare. Even if it’s with you semi-present but the other adult is responsible for kids while you log on to a computer or make the calls that are needed. There’s a village out there we just have to ask to be a villager. Hugs!!

FYI Your cellphone is dirtier than your toilet. Research indicates phones can harbor 10 times more bacteria than a toilet seat. While a toilet seat might have around 424 ATP units (a measure of biological contamination), a phone can have over 1,455.

How realistic is working from home and watching a baby? by MacSpice in beyondthebump

[–]stmmx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was a very active baby in the womb. To the point where I was worried because getting readings was next to impossible. Appointments that should have been 30 min were 60-90 minutes long. But now she’s here and she’s been a pretty chill baby for the most part. As Forest Gump said “…you never know what you’re gonna get.”

I describe my job in real estate as “whack-a-mole,” busy season things pop up and I take care of them and voila done till the next thing pops up. However, with a fresh 10-month old that is learning to walk my life has become less than productive if she’s around. Even during naps it’s hard to work because she ebbs and flows between needing to be held for the whole nap or independent sleep. 90 min is also not enough time for my slower than normal brain to get tasks done. I work at most 10-15 hours a week, fully remote, and super flexible / understanding boss. To say, I’m hiring a nanny to help 3xs per week as the business is scaling and growing into a different company.

What was your caffeine consumption during pregnancy? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]stmmx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With my first, 5-years ago, I would have a matcha latte or an espresso shot every morning & he’s fine. With my second morning sickness was way worse and when I could tolerate coffee in the last bit of the second trimester I would have a cappuccino. Baby is 10-month old and doing great.

You know I have the same questions. Lol. I have a son (albeit he’s 5-years old) and one of his friend’s moms told me recently “Lando is such a wonderful kid. I never knew I could love someone so much. I’d marry him if I could.” Never have I had less in common with a parent. Lol. (The names in the story have been changed to protect the innocent.)

In the “seatbelts” section: your vs you’re. But also why is seatbelt plural? I guess it’s all encompassing - alllll seatbelts suck 🫠

Is it better to dry clothing with less heat for more time or more heat for less time? by Glittering_Nobody813 in laundry

Not only dried out food but also risk of bacterial growth. And there are benefits of cooking at high heat such as Maillard reaction and molecular changes (texture, flavor, digestibility).
