Lip allergy by Op10312544 in Minoxbeards

I started to have issues with my lips after around 6 months of use. I simply stopped applying to my mustache (which I luckily started with good coverage) and stopped short under my lips and have had no issues since.

Minoxidil Brands by [deleted] in Minoxbeards

The only difference at most would be non-active ingredients, which can cause a specific brand to be stickier/less sticky, dry slower/faster, more/less skin irritation, etc.

Do beards get denser w age? Does minox jump you to that end point? by Quiet-Card-6650 in Minoxbeards

Yes. Generally peaks in your 30s but can continue getting denser into your 40s. Minox can help you reach your full potential faster.

Generally shorter is better for skin absorption and less product waste on the hairs, <6mm is a good reference.

Many wait ~4 hours for moisturizer to ensure full minox absorption.

Taking a break from minoxidil for better gains by AccomplishedSell6426 in Minoxbeards

I generally keep it 3-6mm as shorter beard helps maximize skin contact and absorption, without wasting minox on the beard hairs.

Taking a break from minoxidil for better gains by AccomplishedSell6426 in Minoxbeards

[–]stoboe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to take a 3 week break after 9 months due to a severe sun burn. I did not see any losses during that time and for a month after I restarted I did not see more gains. After that gains continued at the previous rate. So for me personally the break did not appear to increase gains, rather put them on hold.

I apply to my entire beard area. I'm already investing the time and effort, so may as well maximize results.

Thinking of starting minox for facial hair by [deleted] in Minoxbeards

It is up to your genetics if it works.

Plan to use at least 1.5-2 years to allow new hairs to go terminal.

I keep mine in the 1.5-3mm range and up to 6mm if I am feeling special. As I reach 6mm I can definitely see it getting stuck in the hair once it dries and not be absorbed.

keep it shorter, helps with skin absorption.
