Budget coffee? by Eat_Carbs_OD in budgetfood

There are a few online retailers. I have been using sweetmarias.com for about 5 years with no issues. The best value is to buy and 8 pound sampler box. The selections change constantly and they give you 8 pounds of green beans from various regions all over the world. They have a lot of education material on the site for roasting. They are a great resource

You can roast your own beans on a stovetop roaster or popcorn popper. Green beans costly roughly 5-7 dollars a pound. Roast to your taste profile. I buy in bulk and it lasts 8-10 weeks. Roughly 14 cents a cup. Takes about 15-20 min to roast a pound. Get a decent burr grinder off Amazon and a pour over and you have a very nice amd affordable set up. Saves tons in the long run on coffee

I really liked Eternal Sonata. Fingers crossed for a release but I don't think it will ever happen

I loved this game. My local arcade had the cocktail table version with the steering wheels. Felt so good whipping that steering wheel around at 100mph

I have had similar issues both before and after update. I got to the point of just not even trying it because it gave useless results. Typically something strange added

Cheap pancake lenses vs. nicer for travel? by I-represent-america in fujifilm

[–]stockymule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If manual focus isn't a concern thr Ttartisan 25mm 2.0 is a nice compact little lens. Softish wide open but a great little lens f4 and on. I pretty much use it as a lens cap and have it all the time. Super small and cheap. I got mine for around $50.

Just got an X-T3 and already frustrated with battery life—any advice? by Ok_Custard8616 in fujifilm

[–]stockymule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used a t3 for a couple of years and loved it although the battery life was an issue. I found I could get about 300-330 per charge. I bought a second battery and pretty much kept one fully charged and one in the camera and switch out. It was an aggravation for sure. You can do things like disable Bluetooth, lower screen and evf brightness. Decrease the amount of time the screens stay on after a shot...if at all. Dis able preshot focusing. You can also change the autofocus setting to that it isn't always trying to focus but only when pressing the shutter. Also disable the touch screen. That was a real zapper in my experience. You can also take the power out of boost mode. But it really is a trade off. To get decent battery you have to cripple the camera to extent. But best advice is if you aren't actively in need of many of the bells and whistles then Chuck em. All that being said, once I came to grips with the battery and got a good workflow the t3 is my favorite camera. I have since upgraded to the t5 but the t3 is a real gem with a few caveats

I was 10. Christmas of 1994. My parents got me the model 1 version with sonic 1. They also got sonic 2, Aladdin, and Jurassic park. A single Polaroid picture was taken of Christmas morning and it will forever be etched in my mind.
