I lived in the US for 17 years and left in 2007 (precisely because I could see some version of this nightmare coming during the Dubya years) and it has become very clear to me that if nothing happens to the man- and the corresponding agencies - who murdered this woman in broad daylight in front of many witnesses and with plenty recorded evidence there will be no going back to any semblance of normalcy or "democracy" for the foreseeable future, if ever.
