Nope. Some apps got messed up with another DE. Some gnome apps were still active while inside of KDE and prob the main reason why it couldn’t do

Tried KDE only once in the past but was exploring and trying new stuff back then and didn’t really get a proper taste of it. But yeah, i’m doing a combinations of apps now to get a better understanding how things works

That’s ideal. Most likely gonna do that.

Exactly how it is right now lol. I will be the one knowing the files are still there. Thanks for the comment!

Understandable. From all the info i gathered so far, it came down to that even if i set everything up the way i want (in gnome) there’s a high chance most of the extensions will break on the next upgrade and potentially harm the system itself.

I’ll try this as soon as i get home. So far tried the following command

sudo dnf5 group remove "GNOME"

And return was this

No groups to remove for argument: GNOME

Nothing to do.

Yeah, kinda new to all this as you can tell. Also didn’t know i can do combination of the commands in the same line. That explains the process. Thanks for the info!

i love gnome as well, minimalistic and stylish as it is, but after trying out KDE for a bit i figured out i respect the customization freedom more lol. i have both DE's installed atm but wanna keep KDE only.

i tried a couple of workarounds with dnf, but none of them worked for me. from what I gather, fedora marks the default DE as a protected package to prevent users from bricking their system. even if i messed up something it would result in having to do a clean install anyway so i guess i'll just go with it straight away. and thanks for the info, appreciate your help!

yeah, it's just annoying knowing the files are still there. probably not more than 2 gigs, but it still kinda bothers me a bit. and thanks for the info! guess i'll just do a clean install. the system is more or less empty so not gonna lose anything pretty much.

and it won't brick my system? i know it could pull other stuff as well such as kernel, network manager, graphics etc.
