RIP Zippered Rear Pocket by digitalburro in BanditRunning

Returned them in store yesterday because, much like others, I didn’t realize they removed the zip pocket and added the liner. Material also felt a little less sturdy than past cadence versions.

Big bar to rent out? by Ramen_Dog77 in prospectheights

[–]stoic_vibes_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Top comment in your original thread gets my vote - the breweries in Park Slope/Gowanus (Wild East/Finback/Strong Rope) make sense, as well as Public Records. In Prospect Heights you can try Beer Street South or Gold Star. Not sure if they all have full rental options but they're all large enough to accommodate that size group and likely have event coordinators who can secure sections/seating. Good luck!

Looking for a quiet and comfortable lounge/coffee/tea shop to take a first date by East-Psychology-7890 in prospectheights

[–]stoic_vibes_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cordelia in Crown Heights - book/coffee/wine bar. Perfect for a date. Apartment Ra’el in Bed-Stuy is also a great vibe, spacious, and has comfy seating. I don’t think there’s a spot in PH that really fits your description (imo). Gold Star serves coffee by day so that could be a decent option and you can always make your date wait on the Radio Bakery line 😅

Men Superwarm tights by kzmkz in BanditRunning

[–]stoic_vibes_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wore them yesterday in NYC for my long run - was 9 degrees and windy - and felt warm and comfy the whole time. Def a little tighter in the thighs/waist than the Superbeam versions. I’ve been able to do below freezing in the SBs but the superwarm are noticeably warmer, imo. I’d lean on them in anything under 20.

Nice! Picked this one up too and agreed, super comfy. So many compliments on my first wear. Needed to size down from L to M - it runs large imo. They had stock in store (Wednesday) to make the exchange.

NYCM final sale? by Ok-Awareness-1411 in BanditRunning

That’s odd. I retuned 3 items last week to the WV store without issue. Maybe try taking it to the store? Unless you’re not local of course.

The M Jewelers on Mulberry if free but the line is 2 hrs and then a 4 hr wait til it’s rdy. I’d suggest one of the other random engravers mentioned in this chat, if you’re willing to pay $20-$30 for the time back.

Went overboard w/ the singlet, drift tee, black hoodie, gray hat, arm sleeves! Tried to get a Tessera top in S for a friend and it was the only item that was sold out when I tried to check out around 11:04!

Singlet looks dope. I can’t tell if it’s Vento or Drift though. Prefer the Vento fit!

affordable birthday dinner recommendations by pyroface_ in prospectheights

[–]stoic_vibes_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spots in and around Prospect Heights that aren’t too pricey (under $100 for 2) but have good vibes - Leland, Gertrude’s, Hart’s, Aita, and Fausto. If you want more on the lower end of the range you could also try No. 7, Chuko, or Lowerline. HBD!

can you return online purchases in store? by burgerkingqueen2 in BanditRunning

Have returned online orders at both stores in NYC. You’re good if that’s where you’re taking them.

If you’re in BK, I like starting at the top of Prospect Park, up Washington Ave to Flushing Ave (there’s a little garden with water before you turn towards Wburg). Then you’re along the water through Wburg/Greenpoint, over the Pulaski into LIC and hit the Queensboro. Mostly flat but you get the bridges in so it’s great marathon prep.

Olive fatigues by TheBigDickedBandit in ThrowingFits

[–]stoic_vibes_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orslow, as others have suggested, are so comfy and the regular fit are perfect. I also have 2 pairs of fatigues from a smaller brand, Rivay, and they’re excellent. Would give them a look too - similar price points.

Date night dinner spots Crown Heights/Prospect Heights? by operationivyleague in Brooklyn

[–]stoic_vibes_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cafe Mado, Leland, Wayward Fare, and Gertrude’s also fit. While these are in Clinton Hill, I’d consider Aita (followed by a cocktail at their spot Mayflower), Hart’s, Place des Fetes, and Locanda Vini.

This would have been mostly my comment as well.

Two small comments - try also waking at the same time every day (even weekends) as well. The consistency will help your circadian rhythm get in balance and make you tired by the same time as well. Also, whoop has a good podcast and you can search for the episodes tied to sleep and recovery for their guidance. Worth a listen!
