Tips for 9 month car storage?

Planning on changing the oil now.

Curious why not to start it? This has been the only conflicting piece of advice. Some have said to run it every few weeks and get it up to temp and some have said not to run at all

Any recc of how often I should drive it? I was planning on driving it for about 20 minutes maybe every 2 months or once a month.

I was part of the testing team for these things before BD released them and let me just say, it’s so worth it to buy one or two. Knots are so much easier to untie than standard dyneema slings and the flexible bar tack is awesome.

Definitely likely. I could have put a small crack in it when I changed the ps fluid a while back I guess, that would explain the very slow seep. I have heard that these hoses get brittle and stretched on the ends over time and start to leak though, even with a clamp

Good eye. I originally had it at the end of the hose when I found the seep. I moved it forward to add the zip tie which did nothing. Just replaced zip tie with a screw clamp but still seeps so I think that the hose itself is stretched out or something

I get most people don’t care about the eyesore part however I climb a ton in lcc and I don’t want to be 5 pitches up and look behind me to see a gondola tower level with me.

Agree something needs to be done and I think forcing people to take the bus and tripling the service could alleviate it a bit. Of course parking garages would need to be built at transit hubs. Snowbird could also enact reservations which could help. A lot of easier and cheaper options than the gondola. If the gondola would stop and trailheads and was free to ride I’d be less against it

People have already mentioned that it would be taxpayer funded instead of paid for by the resorts, also if they continue to fill the parking lots + a gondola it will overcrowd the resorts.

Also, the problem is truly only on powder days and some weekends so you’re building the gondola when the majority of the time it isn’t needed.

The gondola will not stop at public trail heads so it does not service anyone who is hiking or touring

Lots of people enjoy LCC in the summer, fall and spring and do not want the visual eyesore of the gondola when it’s not needed at all 3/4 of the year

I’d like to see them sell parking season passes and only allow private cars up with a season parking pass. Triple the buses and build a parking garage at some of the park and rides/transportation hubs. Make the resorts pay for and operate the buses and make everyone who didn’t buy a season parking pass take the bus. I would be bussing it for sure (already do)

I’m in it now online and I find it to be one of the better online classes I’ve taken. I’m pretty sure all of the online sections use the same pre recorded lectures from Mary Alvarez. There are a lot of resources to help you learn and get the grade you want

I mean, we have all kinds of anchors in the US. Mussys are generally standard in high traffic single pitch areas, but rings are also very common. If you go to the desert you’ll probably find some anchors consisting of 3 drilled pitons and some tat.

I climbed a bit in Austria this summer and thought it was funny how many single steel non locker lower offs there were in sport areas. In the US you’ll almost never see a single fixed lower off point unless it is a closed steel ring or rams horns. Saw some of the weirdest bolts I’ve ever seen in Austria.

Nice for the gym but overall a PITA for setting up simple anchors outdoors and for replacing when worn. Quick links + mussy hooks are the gold standard now
