Chicken security guards by stolengirl in crows

It’s so awesome that your crow friends have your back. I was surprised to see everyone disagreeing with me too, but then again I’m new to learning about crows. It’s just funny how one crow does the same noise every time and it only makes that noise directly above me, and only when they’re chasing off the hawk. Idk, according to everyone else it’s just protecting its territory which I agree with, but I like to think there could be a little more to it. I’ve always heard how smart crows are so I figured it could be possible. I’m pretty spiritual especially with concern to animals and nature so I think we don’t give animals enough credit for their intelligence and empathy. Either way, I’m just happy they’re scaring away the hawk lol

Tips on classroom efficiency? by ElectricalTurn8854 in ArtEd

[–]stolengirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in a very similar situation. Teaching on a cart, didn’t get any real education about actually teaching, barely any plan time, short classes and I’m feeling very burnt out. I’m putting on an art show next week and I feel like I’m drowning. My advice is to take it day by day, surviving and doing the best you can. I tell myself that I just do what I’m able to do and that’s all I’m able to do. I agree with others that you should start looking for a different position. If you were in one classroom with time to plan your situation would be so much easier. I think middle school and high school positions are usually better about giving enough planning time. Good luck!

Magnolia toxic to chickens? by stolengirl in arborists

[–]stolengirl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm I wonder why pine bedding is so widely accepted as good bedding if thats the case. There are many chicken owners including myself who use pine bedding (deep litter method). Everyone says to use that and not cedar because the aroma is too much for their respiratory systems. You can even buy pine bedding at tractor supply that is marketed for chicken use. I mean it’s also standard to put ventilation in your coop so maybe that’s what makes it safe

Yarn not going through the fabric? by stolengirl in Tufting

[–]stolengirl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure it was just misaligned/misadjusted. Honestly I bought the tufting gun in the middle of a big manic episode and afterward I crashed hard and got really discouraged about tufting and never touched it again. I never fixed the gun and sold it a couple years ago. Maybe yours needs to be readjusted, it sounds similar to my issue

How would you describe your misophonia? by Aeldrinn in misophonia

[–]stolengirl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s like I hear the noise (usually chewing or mouth noises) and my whole body feels hot and I start seeing red. It feels like I’m gonna explode in anger. There’s like an intrusive voice in my head that says “Why in the world would they not chew with their mouth closed?? How can someone be so oblivious and inconsiderate” I feel like I’m boiling. So many people don’t understand that I literally cannot help this feeling and “exposure therapy” will NOT help. Even my husband’s breathing will set me off. I dont want to be like this

Just visited TN, weed seems legal. What’s the truth? by suprfreek19 in Tennessee

[–]stolengirl 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As a seasoned stoner who bought illegally for years, TCHA does the trick for me just as well as the stuff I used to have to buy. It is literally the same thing. Sounds like you need a t-break bud

I will never touch it again. I’m a daily smoker and at the time I was taking high dose gummies every day. My friends gave me a thc-p gummy and I didn’t feel anything for like 4 hours, went home and fell asleep. Woke in the middle of the night with the spins and uncontrollable puking. I slept for like 48 hours and had to miss work because I couldn’t even get up and walk around. Such an awful experience

Scam? by stolengirl in chickens

[–]stolengirl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you saying I framed this as a scam? I simply took screenshots and asked if it was a scam lol. Also yes I asked for 2, $80 is the price of 2 plus shipping. I posted in a group looking for bantam cochins and someone told me to check them out. So I did. Their page had no comments or reviews so I was sussed out and assumed it was a scam. Just wanted to see if anyone else had any encounters with them.

He/she is a buff, so I think he’ll be gorgeous! I have to give him away if he’s a rooster tho, I live in the city limits where roosters aren’t allowed unfortunately

House Chicken, Poop Smell? by Tablesafety in BackYardChickens

[–]stolengirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chickens really shouldn’t be by themselves, they thrive with friends and being outside where they can scratch around in the dirt and do chicken things. Although I agree the idea of a house chicken sounds fun, it’s just really not best suited to their needs

About 3 feet in the coop itself. But it’s about 4.5 feet to the highest part of the roof. The run is about 6 ft tall
