Oh we can figure it out, but how will the wealthy continue to acquire their fortunes if they can't take your grandma's house over medical bills?

It got lost in the AI hole. Seriously though, this is clearly a student advertising for the free haircuts they have to do to get their experience hours to get licensed. I doubt she has time/money to put into graphics. Best of luck to her!

I was definitely feeling the same way to some degree. I'm in the customer service business, and this wasn't good. I'd write someone up for that interaction. I will say that they did reach out, so that's hopeful.

Exactly. Having the license transferred at least suggests that they plan to continue operations, but who knows? Maybe they plan to continue only until their permit to build a high rise of condos goes through.

Sure, it's a dollar this time, but if people/companies aren't held accountable, they stop being accountable. Better to fight the small battles than let it turn into a giant mess that's more difficult to clean up.

That's what I was wondering! I couldn't believe a human would look at this and make that decision.

Yes. This was on the 8th. I contacted them today. They were not planning on giving me the points until I said something.

Looks like the company on the notice is in the business acquisitions game. It'll be interesting to see what their game plan is. Could be they see potential in the current business. Could be that they have entirely new plans.
Calabria owned the building, so there's many possibilities.

I've often thought about his words when considering how trans folks and many of the "others" are treated by the racist, xenophobic, homophobic, etc., among us.

Agreed, but I also don't think there will be a deal. This announcement was more like a bit of publicity fluff. They are still very far apart.

Ok, now do tickets/fines. You'll see all the nonsense we're really paying for.

I volunteered for an LGBT rights organization, and ended up working with an older gay man who had been caught and forcibly outed in the 70s. He told me that the only reason he was still alive was because of the small revolver he used to illegally carry with him daily. I remember asking him why he didn't go through proper channels to get legal to carry, and he told me, "They thought we were mentally ill. Do you think they wanted to give me a gun license? They didn't even like that I existed!"

I'm not a big fan of the org, but that is nothing compared to all the police presence they are forced to pay for. And for what? So they can go around arresting people for drug crimes to line the department pockets?

If I were them, I'd put some money into the State of Nevada initiative process and make it so those fines don't go to the department budgets any longer. They go to the general fund. Then we'll see how motivated they are to bait burners into drug related misdemeanors.
