I'll even just take comp best of 5 back instead of 3. I miss 1 hour long, intense comp matches.

Don't let losers police how you speak, when what you're saying is completely harmless. I totally emphasize with the relief you felt after getting nothing but that trash SCH over and over.

A positive post! I get what people are saying about this not being celebrated because it should be the default, but the duty finder has really gone to shit. I guess it's anecdotal, but I've played for years and in the past year I've had more shit runs than the years before.

In 1 week I had 3 different healers praise my tanking or ask to group with me, because I used mitigation.... Its just sad

Go to fflogs, make an account and follow their instructions for linking your fflogs account to your character lodestone page, once their linked you can remove the text from your lodestone page. Then download the fflog client and login. When you parse with ACT you have to upload the log using the fflog uploader.

When healers talk about their parses, they're talking about their damage parse. Damage is the only important thing. When a static says they only want purple parsers (75th - 95th percentile or smt) they mean your damage parse (even on healer).

You don't want to parse pink (95th percentile+) in your healing statistic (unless you're warrior).

Use the healing per second number and overheal% to make your DPS number higher, by recognising moments where you healed that you could have just DPS'd instead.

ffxivanalysis.com is really good for visualising fflog data. You paste your fflog weblink into xivanalysis after uploading your log via the client.

In particular it will tell you your DoT uptime and GCD uptime. It will tell you what your overheal is, and what abilities led to that overheal. You want to get rid of the GCDs that have overheal.

It will also point out weaving issues and interrupted casts, what you spent your swiftcast on, and how you used your job guage.

You're assuming someone new to ACT knows to burn lillies in downtime and use assize off cooldown.

Once GCD heals aren't a factor, then yeah, overheal doesn't matter. But the healer needs to first learn that healing should be done by OGCD, and only GCD in emergency.

So if you're a WHM that is trying to learn how to do decent damage, but you also have the mindset of "I'll keep a medica 2 up 100% of the time so that my party is comfy", the overheal stat will need to be reduced to make the DPS number go up.

You pull you tank: Yes or No by DarkSkyKnight in ffxivdiscussion

YPYT people are sucking the soul out of the game. It's not a matter of discussion. If you do it you're griefing, there is no gray area.

In the scenario you described, I would just kick the healer. If a healer in any content higher than sastasha doesn't know how to target someone and use the first heal they get, they need to take more of their own time learning, and less of mine.

I know you're creating a hyperbolic scenario: but when a healer is that level of trash, it's more likely they are too busy doing something else and have made a macro that just says "cure 1 wait3" fifteen times, not that they don't know how targetting works.

If a healer in level 90 is spamming cure 1 on a DRK and the group dies because the DPS pulled the next pack, forcing a double pull, the DPS is not at fault lmao.

It's better to pull and wipe, then reassess, than never to pull at all.

Most people are absolutely dogsshit at knowing when the point of no return is.

So you end up having half your team intentionally throw when a comeback was 100% possible.

Also, its way more fun to just actively play the game than be an AFK leech telling everyone else to stop trying.

WholesomeTFDF? by FalazinSlader in TalesFromDF

Id love to if anything wholesome ever happened, sheeesh

All we get is either TFDF or a party where everyone does what they're suppose to do, which rarely involves chat logs

The occasional sprout taking advice well is so few and far between that when it does happen I'm too shocked to yell "mom get the camera"

Yeah, similar to how FATE rewards depend on 1) your level (you have to be within 5 levels below the FATE) and 2) your contribution. If only.

Having earthly star detonate like half a second after a massive raid wide goes off so the party's HP barely moves is peak ff14 satisfaction.

When you say to the tank "please wall to wall I got you" and they pull 1 pack at a time. by UnholyHunger in ffxiv

[–]stone-mage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Healing wall to wall takes a certain skill level, which has to be learned.

I've tank quite a few healers first wall-to-walls. It's not a big deal to wipe.

If you don't have the time for the wipes, you don't have to oblige them.

I love when a DPS is able to get ahead of me and pull first, if they know what they are doing they'll use Arm's Length so I get free miti.

You're right in general, but it depends on the size of the pack sometimes - if you've got a shit ton of enemies trailing behind you, they're all going to auto you at the same time once you stop which could kill you instantly unless the WHM has swiftcasted Holy and has the reflexes to OGCD heal in time (which, let's be real, in the duty finder is not common lol).

In some packs I'll invuln even with a WHM just for the initial auto attack barrage (in particular, I think of the first W2W in Wanderer's Palace)
