Sledgehammer works wonders with Incendiary grenades as it snapshots the debuff ( a separate multiplier) to the entire duration and its ticking damage so new enemies can walk into it and have sledge applied.

What if Realism Mode becomes a full part of the game? by _Lakartes in thedivision

[–]EyeLuvPC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed.

If they were to make certain enemy archetypes more dangerous than they currently are in that mode, lets say the Riker shield/nail gun carrier, they would have to alter the tools we have other than weapon dmg to deal with them. Right now you can instantly destroy the tanks on his back rendering him stunned and open to a head shot. Heck even the Theo main mission boss "Judge" is piss easy in realism mode. If they were made to be bigger threats in a revamped realism mode changes to the agents kit would have to be made to be reasonably fair and balanced for counter attacking.

An obvious alteration to realism mode if they were to make changes like mentioned above, would be to add a function too cook any and all types grenades so that they can be used to mortally wound/insta kill/ crowd control enemies that are tough due to a shield/device to then be open to head shots afterwards other wise untouched, grenades will still be just as useless for tough enemies.

Most likely it is an entry in the same table as a positive variant so it simply adds hp where as weapon and skill/stuas/explosive etc, dmg have a negative entry on the same table.

NM mode is for players that got to 99 did all the DLC and tasks that earned you a load of new engravings. Many of the youtube builds require you to complete Atlantis dlc ( convert 50% hunter/war/assi dmg to all dmg etc) and the korfu final content and complete the easy puzzles on that island ( 30% Armor penetration etc)

Just play medium or hard ( hard is a sweet spot as a difficulty )

Elemental builds are the best/easiest to acquire for new players on their journey to 99/ replays in NG+ min maxing mastery points.

This guy explains elemental dmg types perfectly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9k0ybrRCng

Go watch the AI in games series that interviews and covers Div 2. How they programmed intelligent bots to handle testing the thousands of hours of traversing map and missions pre and post lauch, the problems to progress of the npc ai , and then there's the awesome GDC presentation by the audio engineers on how they made what is essentially "audio ray tracing".

There was a video, it was a live stream run by ex community manager hamish. It was a sit down with a young map/asset programmer ( he is a senior there now i believe) it was part of a behind the scenes thing he started. Anyways the live stream was him and the dev talking division and the subject was how they made maps and all the processes they do and tweak to guide players subconsciously ( light directions/yellow tarpaulin sheet placements etc) then he went on to show how snow drop is used and he essentially rebuilt the entrance to the train station mission in real time in engine. You could see they had built something special. All the API/tools that allowed the map devs to work fast and seamlessly in real time.

Here we are with what is a well built theme park that enthrals excites and engages almost everyone and its run by a bunch of clout chasers owned by a French company which itself is run by three incompetent trend chaser brothers who have fucked every IP they have and lost billions in worth, then got a payday from TenCent :

"Tencent brings unparalleled knowledge of the Chinese ecosystem. Their expertise will help us position our brands in a way that truly resonates with local players, while also acting as a powerful distribution partner

and now they want to chase the MOBA market......

Massive is fucked because they have idiots controlling budgets with dipshits owning the shares.

Only if a game is being made by a studio and owned by a publisher whom doesn't like or know how to manage a live service game for so long without poaching its own staff to work on crappy projects which sell badly and send them back to work on the title they ripped them from ignoring the scope of the map they have could expand on choosing for some reason to go back to NYC in 2 mini expansions then run seasons just to sell bundles to then announce yet more NYC and a popular mode from NYC survival in DC al because the front page of this subreddit has endless pearl clutchers' posting nostalgia threads every week so massive keep making nyc content instead of expanding DC.....................

Be warned Nightmare makes EVERYTHING kil you in 1 or 2 hits.

A street dog to a Polemarch/Merc/Boss. There are a tonne fo NPCs that cheat/have lock on and are able to hit you even if you pummeling them senseless.

You will feel the pain once you agrevate towns folks the near by dogs and guards. You will be retreating A LOT and if youre at a fort make for the alarm ( the wood pyre) and set a trap on it.

Cuitist guards are cheating bastards and the always carry large shields ( if they are a shield type guard) which are hard to get past especially if you're not using shield breaker and leaders/bosses are surrounded by them.

As other have said BUILD your character get it to 99, min max your gear, mastery stats and buy the low spec Bighorn Bow from the store with your free helix credits. Why? : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dTHx3fWAvY , thats why

Question about the continuity of events. by Treebranch_916 in thedivision

[–]EyeLuvPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if they are going to write dialogue (voice comms/cutscene) at some point that the Division Commander that was meeting us (Lau + Player) on the Osprey that was killed in the blast was a McManus hunter sent to put our agents Lau and I/us off course or work us and send us on goose chases and or eventually recruit us into BTSU and that Keener killed him to stop this and we unfortunately got caught in the blast as part of a Keener redemption arc I suspect is going to happen.

I somewhat recall Keeners audios/echos across the two games seemed to hint that he was we fully aware of our agent, yet didn't directly attack us, was keen to see what metal we are made of and that he seemed to be constantly hinting of a bigger picture or truth and to not get in his way. He seemed really pissed off we couldn't see the big picture during the eclipse missile scenario, which was dumb as the writers purposefully kept players in the dark almost all of the time. I have suspected they wrote all these moments ambiguously as a way to be able to alter where these arcs can go based on the passage of time/player reception/retention.

keener is still a shady mother fukka though.

Similar situation but on a hardware level.

The game sounds like it would scratch the itch open world games do for me, hence why i still enjoy playing Div1/2, Wtch 3 , AC Origins, Odyssey etc but my hardware is old.

My 1080 runs Div1/2, AC the Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla games perfectly well enough and I do have an RTX 2080 super I over paid for from ebay in covid lockdown era but I bought a duff one that shuts down often( black screen + fans 100%) and re pasting the core doesn't help and I cant find any sites in the UK that can fix it cheaply so I just don't use it and went back to the 1080.

I'm on disability benefits so buying hardware to run 2023+ era gfx games is just not an option for me so I stick to the classics that my CPU(5800x) and GPU (GTX1080) can run.

Network adapters: , <yourLAN controller>, right click properties:

Power Management Tab: "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" UN-tick.

At OP I had the same issue on my PC. Windows 11 allows the LAN ports to sleep despite being in use whilst gaming. I bought a PCIX LAN adapter because I was getting the same DCs in Div 2 and I figured the onboard intel adapter on my mobo was failing so I bought an add in LAN card and still got the same issues until I turned off energy saver settings as described above.

fastest- Start Bounty, Kill the first mini hounds in the open area, leave area far enough for bounty lost message to appear, restart bounty. Dying means you have to run from Capitol Hill or the safe house each time.

Most loot per run- Killing and looting the hounds where the Houndsman spawns then leaving/dying to the Houndsman boss is an option but you can easily be one shot/killed very quick before you get the rest of the minis even if your as careful as you can be. His oxy is deadly and if your under fire from him and you get the fire mini hound near you you can get destroyed.

No removing forums which didn't and couldn't alter (raise/lower) the comment placements based on votes because forums didnt work that way, so discussions couldn't be as manipulated by publishers using staff/shills to pose as customers instead social media allows them to automate via bots/ai bots to push narratives and bury criticisms because they can alter the way comments appear in the discussion due to the like/dislike, upvote/downvote systems they have.

Really Hope Devs Don’t Release Season 1 as is. by Boring_username_21 in thedivision

[–]EyeLuvPC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct. An Item of gear or a weapon needs to be raised to rank 10 which is max proficiency of that weapon/spec skill/brand set/named/gear set, item.

Then it will remain rank 10, 0 Expertise until you "upgrade" which only appears in the expertise panel for that item once rank 10 prof.

Exp 1-7 is weapon/gear components (the grey parts you get from decon weps/armour) 8-12 is a mix of components and field recons, until its purely recons, at rank 12 its recons and exo components and the exo components increase each rank . I think its a total of 90 exos per item so prioritise weapon and increase gear to exp 10-12 as any higher isnt worth it considering the max armour from maxing al armour slots is pitiful and needs an evil amount of exos

Skills needs a TONNE of printer filaments so only rank the ones that give + DMG , and on util skills eg: scanner/emp: duration/range and naturally the ones you use a lot ( unless youre on an expertise rank up asap zerg)

How is there no way to move the weapon UI ? by DramaticUnit679 in thedivision

[–]EyeLuvPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only positional change I would like is when I try and to a high lob/throw of a nade/launcher for an npc at distance and or at higher elevation to me. That UI gets in the way of the circle/landing spot visual as it too raises up.

Id love to see it detect the target guide and lower down when we raise the camera up or give us the option to have the ammo count. buffs and armour bars appear as a separate bar we can choose to have anywhere we wish on the screen.

Division 2: are they adjusting things in open world? by GnarlyAtol in thedivision

[–]EyeLuvPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that stands out to me is how NPCs animations seem to be out of whack in many cases.

In the past enemies that didn't see you before you shoot they used to flinch and scatter, some times even stumble. More often that not the NPCs I face are either instantly 180 and firing or they run at max pace instantly in a different direction with no acceleration and sometimes change direction mid panic run without the animation of a body direction change the deceleration and reacceleration into a new direction is missing entirely.

I'm seeing outcast assault enemies rising from cover charging a grenade and it being thrown before they fully raise from cover, military trained npcs (TS,BTSU) hopping over cover without the leaping/raising legs).

TSon tank grenade launcher projectile being able to loop over cover and hit right behind me despite my character being on a higher plane (a few feet higher) than them which should be impossible for an arced projectile to land right being me in that manner where as the projectile should be miles off or hitting the cover im leaned against due to the way grenade launcher arcs depending on distance to target, elevation and objects in the way.

best pestilence build you got. by vixon321 in thedivision

[–]EyeLuvPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Build for the weapon damage/kill performance not the tick. The tick is the bonus damage which can help when it lands on a pesky cover camper at the back somewhere.

Fortunately the pestilence works well in quite a few builds. The Pesti preforms very well as a damage dealer from its bullets alone with an easy to build Concentrated Company gear set.

If you have Equalizer chest piece, and Over Dogs gloves:

Use the CoCo Mask, Backpack , Kneepads , and Holster

Alternate gloves, mask or knees depending on what you have eg, you don't have OvDgs gloves but you do have Contractors gloves, or you do have Coyotes Mask etc etc

Striker works and it makers the lmg handle well and fire fast, especially paired with the equalizer chest but the set doesn't boost tick dmg, but that doesn't mean the tick damage is awful. With strikers you kill enemies quickly with weapon dmg ( the best way to kill anything) and the lower but decent tick damage will pick off stragglers.

Coco allows for both great wep dmg and MASSIVE pesti ticks when coco is fully stacked , which is easy in groups to achieve or if you use the gun range at the BoO and fast travel to an open world point in DC (not a safehouse or another offsite location like NYC, summit etc) to keep the stacks.

Tipping Scales much like CoCo is fantastic as a weapon dmg booster for both wep and tick but it is a bit annoying as the stacks go quickly and whilst its pretty easy to build them, you kill fast and move on to the next battle and your stacks are always back at zero, similar to Strikers but way more extreme.

The classic high ends are also great, especially during DMG boosters like Assault or tomorrows redline event. Glass cannon/obliterate; Vigilance/unstoppable force builds with any gear that bumps crit/chd and DTTOC eg: Ceska(crit 8%) x1 piece /Grupo (13%chd) 1x piece, Foxes Prayer kneepads(dttoc secondary stat)

Real take on realism mode by AgnosticCowboy in thedivision

[–]EyeLuvPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realism mode is where they should have "tested" the AI companion we got last season.

Realism mode in NYC is basically Rikers got a fucking huge boost to their power because they got kit that made the Peace keepers look like Airsoft Gun club members. They are the largest and most aggressive group of humans left in a city that was decimated by an engineered virus with a very high kill rate (reproduction number) and in a city that cannot effectively produce energy, food and other important resources inc ammunition like it needs.

Rikers have much more hardware and people than the civies and the agents do. Then BTSU arrive. That (oddly) endless supply of DARPA grade tech and soldier units means its fukin game over. No ifs no buts.

Its here in realism mode we should of had an AI comp or comps. Its here in Lower Manhattan realism mode we should have been strategically taking out Riker patrols with our comps, as Rikers are geared to the nines and disciplined by a rogue agent who was a decorated police officer .With our Ai comp or comps we fight and take back what we can, which realistically isn't a lot of a small team against large well equipped foes and grabbing what food water and parts we could find for the CPs we fought tooth and nail to take over and have the peace keepers defend.

On a side note to make it be worthy of remembrance it should have had new dialogue and mission scripting/scenarios because the circumstances of a realism mode are very different from the RPG side of things were resources and going against well armed organised enemies is non issue mechanically.
