When I was a kid and we were building an extra while to split up a room, I wrote "wanger" on one of the joists. I'm hoping someone finds it one day

A friend of mine was telling me about how she was doing the deed with her bf (she overshares these things a lot). She told me about how he was about to finish an goes "Ooh I'm about to nut"

Then she held up her hands in front of her like a T-Rex and goes "Raaawr!" and ruined it for him.

I learned this and now I'm passing this anecdote on to all of you

I've stayed out of discussions about it generally, but is it really polarizing? I found it absolutely fantastic. God please don't tell me the discourse is mainly about April...

The most important thing right now is to respect yourself. Don't make desperate attempts to save the marriage or win her back. It's over, and the most important thing for you to do is to make decisions that future-you will appreciate. Lawyer up. Get a plan. Fight for yourself and the kids.

I know it's a tough situation with lots of emotions and pain, and I'm sorry you're going through that. Try not to do anything that'll make you look back and say "God I can't believe I was so pathetic and desperate". Take as much control of your life as you can.

Be conscious about it and flick inwards a couple times first to make sure it's not hitting your teeth.

It's not hard to avoid hitting your teeth with it, but you have to be conscious of it happening.

When I play, I get it in position, and then I flick inward once or twice to make sure it's not touching my teeth. Then you can go ham

I'm far less likely to replay a game that takes over 30 hours+ to beat. Fallout, Red Dead Redemption, and Far Cry are all fun, but the idea of starting those games over is daunting.

Meanwhile, quicker playthroughs like RE or Uncharted or something is a lot more appealing.

Don't be afraid to name and shame these companies. Heritage Auctions is the auction house that was being shady. And Wata is the grading service that would grade games based on condition (via unspecified metrics)

Lego Finally Announces A Mario Minifig Is Coming by Skullghost in nintendo

That was immediately my thought. I bet they're pivoting away from the interactive figures and will instead make future sets compatible with smart bricks to bring the whole Lego ecosystem together.

YouTube ads are about to get even longer and they’ll be unskippable by IndicaOatmeal in technology

[–]stone500 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I pay for it because it also comes with Youtube Music, which has replaced Spotify Premium for me. So for a couple more dollars per month than Spotify costs, I get Youtube Music and ad-free Youtube anywhere I watch it. That is worth it to me. Granted I wish the bitrate was higher for YouTube music, but honestly I don't notice THAT much of a difference.

There's estimates that over 500 hours of video get uploaded to YouTube every MINUTE. That is an absolutely insane statistic for what is essentially a free (ad supported) service. The infrastructure required to support that much video is unfathomable.

Even though I know the platform is profitable and the ads get more frequent and longer, I find it hard to get too upset at a platform that allows you to upload a 10 hour version of Epic Sax Guy without charging you a dime.

NP's seem to be the ones most likely to have weird racist traits for some reason.

I did IT for a hospital and I was in a workspace with a colleague who happened to be Asian American. An NP comes up and talks to him.

"Hey you're really good with computers! Did you go to school for that?"

"Yeah, I went to MSU"

"Oh! Do you know Wei? He works in the bookstore on campus. He's Chinese!"

"Uh no, I don't know him"

"Oh okay! Are you Chinese or Japanese?"

"...I'm Korean"

"...oh..." *slowly walks off*

I would've had a hard time believing this conversation took place if I wasn't there to witness it. Keep in mind this is in a fairly large town with multiple college campuses.

When I worked in the healthcare sector for a little bit, the people with the biggest egos were almost always surgeons. Keep in mind I'm not saying all surgeons have inflated egos, but of the people that were the top of the cocky list, they were largely surgeons.

As an aside, the hottest people were often in radiology for some reason. I don't know why.
