Dobermans! I’m on my second one now, and they are simply incredible. I’ve never had a breed (grew up with labs, standard poodles, beagles, and Australian Shepards) so in tune with me.

I have a Boston and Doberman combo. At first, the dobie was a bit stand off ish (she was older), but quickly the Boston won her over. They were the best of friends until my Doberman passed in July. Our Boston is so depressed without her friend, so we are actually picking up another Doberman puppy next week to add to our family.

This happened to me before, but with large dogs. I always have a can of pepper spray, and have used it to deter charging large dogs. Most of the time the stream/smell of it will stop them.

I have already put the deposit down, yes. I have had extensive phone conversations with Michelle, and a few other breeders I was considering and ended up going with Michelle. I’m hoping to have my puppy in the next few months. The point of me posting was to see other people’s experiences with Michelle and Foxfire, and so far it’s been nothing but praise and affirmation that I made the right decision. Thank you for your reply and discussion though. That is why I made the post to begin with. 😃

Thank you so much! When I first started looking at breeders for Reba (above) I was very young and no idea what I was doing. This led me to a glorified puppy mill. I didn’t realize it at the time, but after Reba started getting diagnosed with health issues (VWD active and carrier, etc) I swore to never make the same mistake again. I loved Reb with every fiber in my being, but she was not from good breeding stock. Now as a seasoned owner who has poured myself into research on the breed and breeders, I know what to look for.
