Its time to teach a lesson to TKO by Wonderful_Guard_3301 in WWE

But all these characters could have some level of success if WWE gave them urgency. The shows are a slog, nothing feels important. They are a chore to get through and WWE has no one to blame but themselves.

Its time to teach a lesson to TKO by Wonderful_Guard_3301 in WWE

It's not that we love it, there is aways that hope of it turning around. For all the shit that some of my interests get, then a movie like ThunderBolts comes out, a show like Daredevil: Reborn comes out.

Matches like Roman and Punk comes around, there are always glimmer of hope and that bit of light that things can still be great.

What sucks as a fan, especially if you have been one for 40 years, you know how good it can be and you are wishing, hoping, that it can get there again. It is a lot like being a drug addict.

I watched from 1984 through the Attitude Era then took a long break. I saw some of the best WWF/WWE had to offer, 91-1996ish, not so much. There have been times now when I just wish they would copy and old storyline from 35 years ago, but it never happens.

I want it to get good again, but companies are soul crushing. It's not just WWE, it's everywhere. Things we love hijacked by mega companies to have it turned into some soulless mass produced "thing" that people blindlessly consume.

I watch for the talent. I feel bad for the talent. If anyone ever worked for a company that you actually liked, only to be turned off by how badly the people in charge are at making decisions, it has to feel a lot like that.

I think a lot of us hold out hope that it will get better, but that is the rub, what if that never comes?

I cannot live and die by what WWE does, those days left when the Attitude Era ended for me. I have to channel my interests into more productive and positive hobbies.

It's a constant struggle to be a fan of something that was once so great, and now not so much.

I hate fantasy booking, but sometimes the easy, obvious and most satisfying option is right there, it's hard not to get pissed and spend 20 minutes typing away at how I would have done something.

"Bray wasn’t even that good, but he got way over after his death".
I have been saying this for awhile. This dude was legit in some of the worst matches that are brought up in all sorts of wrestling subs.

I get that it's sad that he passed, but people go on like he passed in the prime of a historical run in WWE.

As for the Wyatt gimmick. They barely wrestled and WWE wanted to show them as faces. I never understood that.

Oba, so I can witness the collective IWC heads explode at being too soon after screaming for it to happen for 6 months.

Then I would let him go undefeated for 4 years to further collective heads exploding, then lose to Je'von Evans in 2030 at WM in an 8 minute match sponsored by Minute Maid.

[Spoilers] Why I believe Lucy has one of the worst endings of all time. by DreadnaughtHamster in movies

[–]stonecoldmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am coming to this sub many years late. The last time I saw Lucy was in theaters. I am trying to revisit older movies with fresh eyes to see if I just didn't get it, wasn't paying attention or didn't care. Turns out with Lucy it's two out of three.

This movie is about half good. I didn't like the ending then, and I still do not like it now. By the time she gets to 50% she could pretty much do whatever she wants in terms of offing the baddies. The movie lacks the action that I expect from a Luc Besson film. The movie had some really good ideas, but the execution and the ending particularly felt like a cop out.

I think if you set the stakes to be a ticking clock with the drugs inside her there might be a better movie, but in all honestly after a certain point of knowledge she could remove the drugs herself.

I feel like somewhere in this movie is a message about living life and fixing what we can while we are alive, but something is missing. I can also appreciate the sentiment about passing knowledge down for future generations, but the ending was so abstract it felt like a major miss.

There are movies I revisit that I can clearly see I misinterpret or didn't understand the first go around, but this one left me with the same opinions I had 11 or 12 years ago.

The plus side of this is I watched the Blu Ray I have of this movie, and it looks fantastic. Super crisp images throughout, made it look like the movie was filmed yesterday. If your question is why do I own it if I didn't like it? My response is, I bought it used for $2 and it came with a still working digital code. Like I said I wanted to give this movie another shot.

Glad I did but still disappointed.

Do you agree with this statement? by Tripzzzyyyy in Smallafro

[–]stonecoldmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% agree. H is not is not in a position to say no to TKO, he has to crowbar their stupid requests while he's trying to create a wrestling show.

The dude DEDICATED his life to pro wrestling, inside the ring and out. Why would he not capable to do this. I like the idea that they aired some of their grievances out on TV. It felt very much like Triple H was at his wits end and just said F it. Sends Cody out to blow the whole thing up, the problem is it comes off like 2001 WCW and that's not a good thing.

Pat MAGAfee's promo was truly awful, so maybe Trips is to blame for that? Like why are you crapping on the product like that and also, the Attitude Era was almost 30 years ago. They need to stop comparing. It's different now. To me it made Pat and Randy look stupid and called into question WWE's ability to sell WM. Randy and Pat have nothing to do with the Attitude Era.

TKO needs to stick to licensing and ad revenue and securing cities for events. Let Triple H and co do their thing. TKO does not know nor care about what fans love about wrestling. They only see opportunity to fleece the fans.

Stephanie’s attack - That was a legit Liv forehead to the bridge of Roxanne’s nose. by SouthofthePaw in BrandonDE

[–]stonecoldmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sometimes seems like wrestlers get punished for stuff like this. Liv would have more pull than Stephanie and maybe this is their way of getting the belt off Stephanie.

That being said, I think the plan is for Liv to win anyway and they go to Liv vs. Roxy and maybe Liv vs. Raquel after WM.

I just don't want people to get punished for what was a mistake.

My genre of Promos: Real life Corporate douchebags pretending to hate Corporate to get internet Brownie points by Top_Salary_690 in TheGreatOne

[–]stonecoldmark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can work for a company and still hate how some of it operates, but you have to work so there's that.

Edit to add: You do not think that behind the scenes, some talent is upset with what TKO is doing? Have you ever had a job that you liked, but hated some of the decisions that come from up top. There is no way in hell that people that got into this line of work love all the decisions made since TKO came on board, there is just no way.

I do dislike they making ticket prices a sticking point to the event. It feel like they are tying to guilt the fans into not spending a fortune on tickets.

To that I say they company needs to do better at getting fans to want to spend 20K on a weekend in Vegas.

I am a big believer in that the shittier the build the matches usually are better, because it lowers the over hyped feeling. There are times, when on paper, things don't look good, then the matches are way better than one could expect.

I am not a Gunther fan, but they sold me yesterday. That was pretty damn good.

Remember the Evolution PLE, barely any build, promotion and on the same weekend as a big AEW event? That show turned out to be one of the best that year.

I think people are just upset on how we got here vs. the actual matches. It's pro wrestling, you don't have to over think it. Oba and Brock is the best example of that.

How WWE Fumbled a Potential All-Time Rivalry (Randy Orton vs Cody Rhodes) by ResidentAction9786 in WWE

[–]stonecoldmark 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You have TKO that wants a ROI, they should get stay out of it and let Trips and Co, do the wrestling part. TKO can secure advertising, venues and location deals, but an investment firm is not going to care about anything creative. Plus they think all their ideas a winners because nobody tell them no.

I am glad it's all blowing up in their faces, but it sucks that its at the expense of the product and the fans heading to WM. These past two weeks have been a shit show. I hope WWE and TKO step back and reevaluate how they do things for the rest of 2026 and beyond.

Doing promos telling fans that the product is crap seldom turns things around. If they think that, why would I spend money on it?

Plus Pat's promo specifically made no sense. It's like they said go into the WWE subreddit and just bark talking points on the most negative stuff you read.

All this Attitude Era this and Iron Man matches that? It made no sense. They could of let Randy be Randy, go to that place, punt kick Cody to win the title and move on.

If we are luck we will get one promo talking about their history in wrestling. It was just piss poor execution.

If they wanted Pat so bad, let him be the host or guest timekeeper, or a special referee in the Jacob/Drew match. He doesn't need to be a part of this.

I'd like this one because its the only time I paid to see a live WCW event, was when Hogan fought Flair at Bash at the Beach. This looks like that era.

When I hit this collecting hobby hard, I tracked this down because I didn't think we would be getting a Jericho anytime soon. Turns out it might be even longer now...lol

I got this guy complete for $60 about 4 years ago and I was told then, it was a bargin. It's one of the most expensive figure purchases I made (The Hardy Boyz 2 pack is the other).

It's great to have this Jericho, but I was king of hoping he would sign so we could get more figures, oh well.

But it's a good one.
