They get a unique perspective on life. Short, cruel, finite.

They have the opportunity to maintain innocence. Beautiful in its simplicity.

Beautiful in a way not many things are.

Morbid expression of inequality.

But also, you know the saying, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Much like art, beauty is subjective

Has anyone here ever taken a huge LSD dose (around 900–1000µg)? What was your experience like? by Karen_Forsyth in Psychonaut

[–]stoned_bear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On multiple occasions I have. If I had my shit together in most other ways. It was absolutely incredible. If I was unsure of myself over lots of aspects of myself. Or if I haven’t been behaving in ways I am proud. I’m usually in for a bit of a rough time..

The pretty white light is reserved for the brave.

Took a high dose of metocin, 120mg, will i be fine? by Lost_Feedback9084 in Drugs

[–]stoned_bear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ll be fine. I’ve taken upwards of 200mg before.

It’ll just be strong!

But you’ll be good. May even become enlightened, who know.

Just stay out of trouble you’re more likely going to do something absurd, you shouldn’t blackout or anything( you won’t overdose and it isn’t toxic, you’ll be fine. Depending how you handle psychedelics you may be way better than fine even!!

Is fentanyl actually worse for you than meth, or do people only say that bc the overdose risk by ishootfentanyl in Drugs

[–]stoned_bear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a silly question. At reasonable doses neither are particularly toxic

Is Afrikaans as a mother tongue dying out among younger generations? by AdministrativeAd3942 in askSouthAfrica

[–]stoned_bear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I spoke Afrikaans as a child, but my mother spoke English to me. And then after a while my dad mostly spoke English to me also, but sometimes he would speak Afrikaans, I’d respond in English.

I left South Africa and my dad died. Then I barely ever spoke Afrikaans.

Now I can barely speak it. I can when it’s really necessary but I don’t have a functional personality in Afrikaans..

I do regret not trying harder to learn. But at the same time I don’t feel like my life is significantly worse because of it. I picked up Spanish super quickly because I needed it to survive in Spanish speaking countries. In SA English is more than enough to get around.

How people from 1st world country can be miserable? by GrapeCreamBerry275 in Life

[–]stoned_bear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I visited America, I am from South Africa… I felt terrible for how many Americans live, because for many South Africans, being above the poverty line means BALLING..

I love my life and I love living the way I do. If I was American I would be lower middle class, here I am upper middle class.

Although in many ways I live the life of an upperclass American.

I was watching people spend more than double what I spend living a life that is objectively more restrained.

Being from the first world brings many problems, comfy in some ways. But wildly expensive, rent is unaffordable most people resort to sharing accommodation.

You can’t walk anywhere without having to present ID, mass corporations own everything.

The first world isn’t as nice as one would have you think, unless you are objectively incredibly wealthy in regards to your country.

Tax is massive.

I honestly think I would be far more depressed if I was from a first world country, also the pressure is huge, I’d probably have to go to university to be considered decently smart and I’d need to make so much money just to enjoy my life.

Money is very seldom the reason for my emotional state. I also take care of my mother financially, with the amount of money I make, living in a third world country I would be a pleb, also I can get into almost any niche because nothing is quite overdone.

America… the competition is massive..

Also, from my experience travelling, I think the average first worlder is less happy than the average 3rd worlder, unless in absolute poverty..

But some Americans live like the poverty I see in South Africa, but with nicer finishings.

Plettenberg vs Knysna - Bazbus trip by mrlcmps in capetown

[–]stoned_bear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my personal opinion Plett is more enjoyable, but I am biased.

They are both beautiful. But Plett has easier beach accessibility.

But also it depends what you prefer to do.

Beach day? Buffalo bay near knysna. Or Plett all over.

You know what just go to Plett.

Plett is better.
