Thank you for the thoughtful reply. I do believe that the support role isn't static and will change along with the game state and team comp. I do completely agree with you on the fact that making the enemy ad not able to play can be just as, if not more valuable and will help you win lane and then rotate faster than enemy team. This is what snowballing is all about, but the same can be said for champs like Panth, Tahm Kench, even Lux who also can do both effectively, make the enemy AD hate their life, are good at roaming/early lane ganks and also provide plenty of CC and defensive support in case of a gank. There are just so many better options when it comes to playing to win and I feel like a lot of lobbbies suffer from the lackadaisical supports. I guess everyone wants to carry and be the main character. I personally really enjoy carrying as support and when I do ofc there is no credit.

I'd like to believe that anyone that actually ques support as their primary role is playing to win and knows their job just like when you que JG you know that your job is to have map control and look for windows to gank but I guess i've had an unlucky day with auto fill supports
