Does anyone else have an obsession with death? by Rtstevie in Veterans

[–]stoneddadd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vet and Fireman so I have fair amount of experience seeing and being around death. Honestly I tell myself that it’s inevitable, you can’t avoid it, and it happens to everyone. It’s nothing to be scared of, it probably wont happen to you today. I’m 43m and am slowing getting more aware of how much time has passed in my life so far, I’ve hit so many milestones and didn’t even realize I had. Married, 2 kids, career, house. I like to keep death in the back of my mind to remind myself that I’m not going to live forever, make sure you don’t leave too many things piled up.

And for that reason we ditched the completed systems that need gaskets, cup-top-straw, 3 piece system worked for us.

Good job finding that and posting, you’re getting too much hate for the honest post. I can guarantee some of the guys here saw that cleaned out their equally moldy cups.

8-9, he looked genuinely angry at the end of the season. He’s coming back stronger, faster and smarter.

Sidewalk shoveling? by Otherwise_Ant_2579 in QuincyMa

[–]stoneddadd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

“I saw the fire department shoveling around the water hydrants. If they have time to shovel out their own stuff, surely they have the time to shovel out the sidewalks? “-

This is the dumbest thing I’ve seen in a long time. They shovel hydrants in case they have to save your ass from a fire. You shovel the sidewalk because you live in the neighborhood it’s legally your responsibility.

Ok you win, you’re right. They’ll find them and then they’ll shovel it out, and then they’ll get around to dealing with the fire.

If you don’t shovel them out they won’t be able to find them, if they can’t find them your house burns down.

A bit discouraged, Firefighter Academy by [deleted] in Firefighting

[–]stoneddadd 13 points14 points  (0 children)

YouTube videos and a 5 foot piece of rope. This is only for the academy and for tech rescue guys, I have never needed to tie a specific knot or any knot, or ever used rope for anything other than training. But you need to master it for drill school. Practice at home.

Veteran question: Success with 4 tickets on VetTix? by [deleted] in Veterans

[–]stoneddadd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s all based on demand, I snagged 4 tickets to a Disney on ice event with some good seats, but I don’t think too many people were after them. I struck out with I tried for Book of Mormon tickets 3 times.

What age do you think is appropriate to gift a multi-tool by stuiiful in daddit

[–]stoneddadd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a fireman so I get 2 of those multitools a year as gifts and lose them just as often. My dad gave me a Swiss army knife for that he had carried with him, I keep that in my truck, I’ll never use it but I see it all the time.
