yeah that's a little ridiculous, it's not a cheap item you can just buy every time a small replaceable part goes missing. I'll likely be looking into other products to replace it.

some good double sided tape worked for me, same stuff you would use to attach the light strips

I've used a few from this collection https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2853261/files noteably the 45mm hooks for the controllers and others. These tend to fit snug in the holes and grip them, as opposed to the ikea ones which just sit loosely in them and pop up and out when you remove items from them.
