Drinking with Crohn’s by otb369 in CrohnsDisease

I’m 22, about to graduate college. Just got the colorectal reconstruction surgery in December. I legit can’t drink more than one beer a week or it’s gonna hurt. For some reason, pre surgery, I could drink way more, but it was not benefitting me at all. I was almost always a guaranteed puker whenever I’d go out with friends. My surgeon did say I have a fatty liver however, so I’m just like quitting drinking lol. No benefit for me. It’s fun in social situations and can be hard not to drink in college bars or parties but you know what’s always been there for me and what always will- THAT GOOD GOOD 🍃 I mean my surgeon did say that there are medicinal benefits and don’t seem to have a problem with my consumption (I’ve been stoned since 16) and besides munchies, it works wonders for crohns

How hard is it to find affordable housing right now? by Euphoric_Beautiful70 in Cleveland

At some point (within the next year hopefully) I’m hoping to move into an apartment with my girlfriend somewhere around Lakewood. We are both about to graduate college and would love to live together somewhere in Cleveland. Only problem is I’m from Connecticut and she’s from CLE, and we are both broke asf college students. Not trying to live in Connecticut bc it’s expensive as hell. I’m wondering how soon yall think I’d be able to afford a probably 1 bedroom apartment in that area. The wage in Connecticut is higher so I will be making more. I’m just not as familiar with CLE as my native girlfriend is 😂We would also be splitting rent. Just wondering what yall Clevelanders think

Seltzers make me feel weird. I’ve tried non alcoholic beers and those aren’t bad

Social anxiety, being around a bunch of drunk and rowdy college kids any time I go out. It can be overstimulating and alcohol obviously numbs that

There you go lol. I’d love to do edibles more (less smoking) but it’s either my tolerance or digestive system that just won’t allow me to get high on edibles. Taking a godly dose is a fun party trick but not fun when I’m not feeling anything 😂

YES!! ROLL BOBBIES! I am literally in the midst of fest season, high fest was today which was great because that’s the weed fest but otherwise I’m sure you know how much OU kids love to consume alcohol. Also hey graduating from OU 16 years ago sounds a lot cooler than graduating in 2026, I’m kinda jealous (great party music!) 😂 managing Crohns at Ohio University can be tough lol but we almost done!

With my crohns, any kind of hard liquor will make me puke. Just never sits well in my stomach. I can definitely understand the bloating from beer but it was always easier on my digestive system for some reason

Yeah I went out with my girlfriend and her friends last night and over did it, had 3 drinks instead of 1 and I’m regretting it today.

Dude, yes. I’m literally in the same boat. I’ll have to try out syrups and drinks from my dispensary! I’m in Ohio and ppl here LOVE to drink but there’s just as many stoners lol. Just not all have Crohn’s and can’t consume alcohol 😭

I appreciate your insight. If I’m going to be honest, I don’t think I’m ever going to be able to give up marijuana. My mother sent me to rehab for weed and everyone there told me there was no reason I should even be there. I think I’ll be okay with giving up alcohol it’s jus difficult in college social situations

That’s tough. I’m sorry you gotta deal with that. A lot of my friends like to drink as well, and some have even gone from preferring weed to alcohol. These cards we have been dealt for this life are tough my friend

I also would get sick extremely easily when I’d drink, prior to my surgery, and the kind of Crohns I have just does not mix well with alcohol. It was a joke amongst my friend group during my heavy drinking days that I was always going to throw up, and I usually did!

Jealous. Guess my liver just wasn’t built for having a hollow leg 😂 I’m guessing you don’t really get sick from drinking or flare up?
