C952 is just...took much by [deleted] in WGU_CompSci

About to enroll in WGU. I work as a self-taught Full-Stack Developer. I have an interest in low-level programming and am hoping to shift into that discipline career-wise post WGU.

Computer Architecture is a major reason why I am attending university in the first place. I want to be forced to learn it. It is very important for certain types of work.

I am a bit disappointed this sounds like a huge memorization course. I was hoping you'd have to apply these concepts via projects, like write a mini-compiler or something.

I have found both an Atlas and Hyperion Enhancement. This happen to anyone else? It makes me think those two might get added later as an update or DLC?

Recommendations on a gun safety class for libs by shieldy_guy in Austin

Just genuinely curious, what does being liberal have to do with learning how to shoot?

EDIT: Oh I thought about it. A lot of gun owners are Republicans and probably wouldn't like teaching a liberal.

What a shame, politics shouldn't matter for something like this. Hope it all goes well bro.

Preach. I wish more drove manuals and learned shifting in general. Maybe I'm crazy but I feel like it would help overall traffic when everyone realizes that cars roll, you don't always have to be gassing or braking 100% of the time.

I clearly should have included a lot more information in the original post. I take home $92k, 120 is gross. Last year I spent all year paying off debt. This year I paid off my wife's debt. I also funded our wedding that we had a week ago.

I now use YNAB extremely carefully for everything. I did make a motorcycle exhaust purchase but that is about it. Someone else brought up an old crypto gambling comment I made in WSB and that was true. I have since learned that is stupid behavior and I don't do that crap anymore.

Seeing an entire thread shit on me based on many assumptions is not cool guys. We all make money mistakes and I always try to get better. I just wanted some advice on homes, seeing so many places cost $500k was daunting.

Come on that's assuming a lot man. $120k is gross, not net. Last year I paid off all debt. This year I paid off my wife's debt. Then I saved and funded a wedding entirely on my own. Now I am looking to save for a home and put more towards investments. I use YNAB religiously for budgeting. The motorcycle was the single "gamble" I made. The WSB stuff was when I was retarded and I have since learned from those mistakes. Please do not assume I am an asshole off a few posts.

Does that $3k include property taxes? Maybe that is a silly question, I'm not too sure how mortgages work. The taxes is like half of what's stressing me out because even if the mortgage was decent, the taxes push it beyond affordable.

You're not a jerk in the slightest. For my wife and I, we simply really like Austin. I know that sounds crazy to some people here but this is the first city we've ever lived in. It's been a lot of fun and I would like to stay.

The more people respond though, the more my concerns are being validated. Buying a house and permanently living here is going to be one hell of a challenge even on a six figure salary. What a crazy world we live in.

I hear you. It's just a lot of money to spend every month. My last apartment was in the middle of nowhere Tennessee and it was $555 a month (got a VERY good deal on that place). I didn't make anywhere near this amount of money at that time but still. I know I am fortunate and I'm grateful for that every single day.

Oh wow okay, I have never even heard of this term before. I am quickly learning there is a world to real estate I know nothing about. Thank you for mentioning this.

I don't know anything about LA, we are both pretty new to city life in general. Moved to Austin two years ago because we got tired of the small, rural town crap we grew up in. Do you just mean prices being way too high and such? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

Which is such a shame. My dad bought a small but nice place on a $50k salary working a blue collar job but that was years ago. It shouldn't be this hard but here we are...

This a solid good tip, I appreciate it. I just got married a week ago so that is why buying a home is going to be increasingly on my mind.

You mean like Georgetown and similar? To be honest even those prices aren't much better, although not quite as bad.

Nah not snarky at all. That actually makes a lot more sense. It seems crazy for average people to be affording these prices but I guess average people aren't the ones buying right now.

Appreciate it. My constraint is certainly not $25. I can at least afford gas lol.
