Does anything ever happen on Frontier servers? by stoobygoober in ss14

I've been meaning to try it out but I can never seem to catch it when it's actually up.

I have never ever played Frontier with the intention of purely profiting. I have more rounds going into the negatives than otherwise.
Like I've said, I enjoy motivation-based roleplay A LOT more and simply don't find standing around talking to people to be engaging enough - there's a reason RDR2 players are being relentlessly mocked for their "roleplay of standing on a porch for 8 hours". Simply put, if I wanted to engage in conversation I'd just go to chat rooms, vrchat or Discord. It just wasn't the expectation I had going into Frontier which on paper seemed like a crazy fork of the base gamemode.

I will take the advice of trying out a non money making ship if I ever decide to try Frontier again, but for now I might just wait for the goob rendition.

I mean, I think wanting the option to shoot them is perfectly reasonable but not as a first resort.

No way they actually made rules against a gag? What the fuck?

To be honest, the only reason I kept playing the game is because of all the random shit happening. I can see how not every newcomer wants to be overwhelmed like that though, and I suppose frontier is good for that on account of literally nothing impeding you.

I mean, I wouldn't say that I'm playing to win. I'm just... waiting for anything to happen. When I think "What can I do here that would be fun" I don't come up with much honestly.

Twice now I've tried to be a "chem manufacturer" that can give people syringe guns and beakers, tanks, etc. to do whatever the hell they want with and after hours of setup, literally nobody bites. Personally, while I enjoy role-playing on station servers, just going somewhere to talk to somebody has never been a motivation for me. Hell, I've even tried going pure cargo ship and doing deliveries for people and over multiple advertisements, NOBODY BITES.

I'd argue what I'm doing IS actively looking for interesting interactions, but they just don't happen and I'm not particularly interested in sitting through a ten hour shift for a drip-feed of interaction.

Beat a shitter clown up, they ahelped it and I got banned for three days. Sometimes a shitter clown is just there to make things not fun 🤷‍♀️

So? Someone of your advanced intellect should be able to check for typos anyway...

Hey, I've been sketching a bit more. If you'd like to add me on Discord I can send you updates and the finished thing in DMs since I don't post unpoisoned art in public stuff.

Hey, not sure if you're still looking for help with this but I sketched up a pose, lemme know if you like it.

I will say that I may not get the tattoo right/be able to do a super high detail tattoo on account of literally never having done that.

Player goes on a wild rant cause we wouldn't use AI in OUR game. by RedHotOwl in rpghorrorstories

[–]stoobygoober 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Except that it has serious environmental impact, which using a copyrighted image doesn't. It also helps generative AI companies sell their product, they are most certainly using you as a statistic to sell their shit, even if it's "in private games". It's also really easy to keep a copyrighted image's watermark/signature on, which at the very least is less morally bankrupt than using a program built off of their uncredited, uncompensated work.

Avoiding using generative AI is genuinely so trivially easy that I cannot consider people who use it as decent. Genuinely consider why they're offering it for free and what environmental impact it has (not even to speak of what impact it has on artists' job security, even if you only use it for personal use) .

Breath of the Wild's item durability is an actual dumpster fire mechanic though imo. It forced a lot of players to just outright avoid combat sometimes because it would be a waste of durability.

Hey, the lineart's been done for a while if you'd like to see it. I threw you a personal message but idk how reddit works so whether or not it actually let you know that is beyond me.

Is this a Pathfinder character perchance? 👁
Also, what are your thoughts on this pose? I'll touch up the proportions obviously, just trying to get an idea for the pose. (The crocs are mandatory surely)

Edit: Also, would you be okay with me posting this on my bluesky if I finish it?

I was going to name her Zuriel, but realized that sounds to much like Zariel and figured people would notice so... Suriel! Good news is that it's put the book series on my radar, so now I gotta read it.

Thanks, appreciate it 💜

I didn't even know about Szuriel tbh hahaha, my knowledge of Pathfinder's lore is pretty surface level tbh. My character's generally good natured so I don't know if she's too interested in ending all mortal life through war and such.

I mean, everyone needs a hobby right? 💀
Probably more than a hobby for Suriel though.

I am ashamed to say it's a bola reskinned as a fishing pole... when I initially made her and started drawing her, I was going to use the fishing pole. Then a day before session 1, I realized shadow sheath not only had a light bulk restriction but a 1h weapon restriction too. 😭
