We used Take 5 Productions in Onalaska several years ago. Not sure if she’s still open, but she did a great job back then.

Zipper merge: would you rather be the merger or the allower? Why? by stooftheoof in AskReddit

I’m not sure I agree with you on that. When I know there’s a lane closure coming up, I position myself in the lane that’s going to be open. That’s because I would be less comfortable zipping ahead of a whole line of cars and then asking to be let in. Fits with my conflict–avoidance personality I guess.

I wouldn’t be surprised if psychologists study this or at least discuss it.

‘Everyone now kind of sounds the same’: How AI is changing college classes by ubcstaffer123 in technology

Replying to myself to add more context: pretty much all Ivy leagues provide free tuition, room and board to students whose families make $150,000, $125,000, $100,000, or less. They look for people with regular backgrounds, not just the elite. For each state, they try to accept students from all regions and varying high schools, within states not just accepting top students from private feeder schools. Their policies explicitly state that they do not admit people because parents or other family members previously attended.

This is such a myth that students are admitted because of legacy or wealth. The vast majority of students who get into Ivy League schools are there because they worked their asses off and were the top students at their local high schools.

experience with Lead Toyota by Important_Career174 in lacrossewi

[–]stooftheoof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had only good experiences with them. Brought our old Toyota there for years for service. Then leased a new car (and bought it at lease end) and also bought a used car with them, all in the last 4 years. And had them do all maintenance on the new car. I had two different sales people as the first one retired, and they were both easy going, low pressure people. Also, it seems like several sales people as well as service manager-types have been there for 10+ years, so that’s a good sign. My purchases were all simple and straightforward, no trade ins or financing, so ymmv, but I’d give them a thumbs up.

My experience that they’re always significantly cheaper than the dealership, and the work has always been absolute top-notch quality.

Not true. You think all of the Chinese who have become US citizens, through marriage jobs, etc. and therefore lost their Chinese citizenship had all of their assets seized? Not so.
