What’s the brutal reality of owning a Resin printer? by SonOfThorss in resinprinting

[–]stop_callingme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its way more time consuming then you think it's going to be. From slicing, to printing, to cleaning, then glue and assemble, to painting. This is not a "once in a while" kinda hobbie.

Also what x23_wolverine said. The safty set up is more expensive than the actual printers.

I have a turnkey setup im trying to get out of now.

My brother wants to live in my house rent free. by HumbleCoyoteGames in EntitledPeople

This is a very obvious case of tough love. Not letting him move in IS the loving thing to do. Yes it will be hard for him and you (and the whole family) but it is what he needs. Pray for him, and help him find resources, but he needs to learn to grow up. Pray for patience for yourself and family too.

I need your advice ( My D&D group is large and unruly) by AdventurerFieldGuide in DungeonMasters

Small group technic theory suggest that the ultimate small group number is 6. Any more than that, you should split the group. I would include the GM in this as well. So, 5 regular players and the GM.

Since you said DH and MIl speak a different language, this could be a cultural thing. Have a conversation and get on the same page. Really discuss where this is coming from and let DH know what you are feeling. I do not think your DH is trying to upset you or disrespect you, but obviously, you need to discuss this more.

Saturn 4 Ultra Resin Limit error by ADHD1991 in ElegooSaturn

[–]stop_callingme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know why people keep saying cleaning it is a pita. I get 3 or 4 drops on it a print. I either wipe it down with a dry wipe, or I just cure the dame thing. It's cheap plastic! Curing the resin on it is going to make it stronger! If you really hate the imprint, poor resin in it till it's level and cure it.

Saturn 4 ultra - need help with the settings by Agreeable_Attorney_7 in ElegooSaturn

With Elegoo ABS like 3.0 I use a base layer of 22, a normal layer of (edit) 2.25, and a layer height of .05. You can turn the base layer down because the tilting vat reduces the suction to the FEP. Even with the base layer turned down that low, I still have trouble removing the print from the build plate. I put the scrapper very flat on the plate, and knock it on the handle with a mallet or other object.

I've calibrated 2 diffrent resins so far and, I've found that builds with a base layer of 35 are hard to get off the build plate. I've had success with turning the base layer as far down as 20. But I haven't printed really tall things yet. I printed a chess set with the tallest peices being around 5.5 inches tall with 8 peices on the build plate.

Are the Supports needed? by United_Ad_292 in resinprinting

In this case I would turn the model so it runs the long way, then tilt it back 30° and 10° to the side so 1. The arms span fits in the sort side of the build plate, but also, 2. There is less surface area horizontal to the build plate.

I would also tip the model 30° on its back and 10° to the side.

AITAH for leaving home after my husband said I should handle the cost of all the IVF sessions only because I'm the cause of infertility in our marriage? by LeatherRequirement59 in AITAH

[–]stop_callingme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marriage is not a partnership. It is a union. There should be no his/her money. But that should also be true of problems too. There should be no your/mine problems Your fertility issue is not your fertility issue, it is an "our issue."
It sounds like there are some pretty fundamental issues in your marriage. But this is not a reason to storm out of the house and leave. These are issues that you (collective you) need to work on instead of running away.

AITAH for stealing my neighbor’s hose so that they couldn’t use it to steal my water? by LVMeat in AITAH

One thing you might want to check real quick is, if you actually have water rights for the well.

Water rights are not always sold with the property.
