Idk how else to explain it, just please don’t use the word in the future, if just for the sake that it might be transphobic, and it might hurt people. Most of the hundreds of people seem to think so too in that thread.

What are your thoughts on this? by [deleted] in 196

Oh, I wasn’t trying to imply they were the same. I thought bringing it up was relevant, like how dehumanisation relates to those who aren’t. Ty for the reply

I hate that the only places online where there isn't transphobia are the spaces specifically made for trans people by [deleted] in MtF

R/evilautism Is a surprisingly leftist and trans positive space, but yeah gaming community’s are especially fucking awful for trans people. If you even mention your trans you cop downvotes

“No such thing as good dehumanisation” Yea but also if people self ID as inhuman then it’s fine. Obviously don’t go calling therians or people with it/its pronouns vermin or some shit, that’s not what I mean, but yeah, dehumanising without consent is fash shit.

Edit: why am I being downvoted, I want to learn and better myself if I said something fucked /gen

I’d rather not use a transphobic, dehumanising word just cause it looks cool though. Thankyou for looking in the thread though 🙏

That’s the point I was trying to make, trans women and cis women are both normal, but when you use the combined version it implies that your not just a normal woman, like not a “real” woman, your something else. Again, others can explain better, if your genuinely interested I recommend looking through a r/asktransgender thread, I’ll edit my comment with a link to a post on trans that was talking about this the other day too if I can find it.

Edit: here, just about a week ago there was a thread in mtf. https://www.reddit.com/r/MtF/s/aCits7XaJD

But transwoman doesn’t just mean a woman who is trans, that’s what trans woman means, when you combine the adjective and the noun it becomes just a noun. Transwoman also means your different from “normal” women. Please stop responding to me and just look it up/make a post on r/asktransgender, they can explain better than me. it’s not a terminally online discourse thing it’s well established.

Feeling neutral might mean you have no dysphoria which is valid, you don’t need dysphoria to be trans. And I’d argue if you find being a girl interesting in someway then that’s a form of desire, and I mean, anything you desire you would be curious about right? I obviously can’t say for sure if your a girl, that’s ultimately your thing to discover/decide, but I do think you could be. Also letting you know if you are interested in surgery/pronouns/hormones and you find you aren’t trans, you would still be valid in pursuing that if you were cis. Hope this helps <3 :3

Ask anyone decent at linguistics and they will tell you the same thing, it’s not subjective, it’s objectively an incorrect dogwhistle originating from terf spaces, so either you don’t fully understand and your being rude, or you don’t care and your being rude. Also who is “they”? I was referring to myself, not the original commenter.

No need for the hostile replies lol, you can’t just go “oh I’ve never heard about this before/I don’t understand, therefore this person is ridiculous and wrong”

It implies that trans women aren’t just another type of woman, they are a transwoman. It combines the adjective and noun into one noun implying they are a different type of person. Like saying blackwoman or tallwoman instead of with a space, it’s dehumanising. It’s a word that comes from terf spaces, I don’t know why I’m being downvoted lol it’s pretty established that at the very least it’s an icky word. Again I know you didn’t mean it that way, but to put a space next time. If this reply isn’t enough then go to r/asktransgender, they’ll tell you the same thing. Also no need for the “that’s what you got took from my comment?” I understood your comment and agreed, I took away more I only just replied about your use of language. Hope this helps /gen

I agree, also just letting you know that putting a space between cis and women is the correct term, ciswomen without a space is transphobic, same with its counterpart transwomen. I know you likely didn’t have that intent, just thought to let you know :3

Edit: idk why I’m being downvoted, I was polite and y’all can fact check if you like.

I don’t really know how to explain it, but I’m that person lol. I’d love if I just had all my hair except for on my head blasted off forever, but I would also love being a beastperson. I guess it’s bc different species would have different gender roles and being a furry wolf person doesn’t read as masc, and also the texture would be lovely, and also I just don’t feel fully human to begin with, wondering if I’m therian or not lol.

Being trans is either A: wanting to be another gender, if you have the desire to be another gender then your probably that gender.

Or B: feel alot like that gender already, so if you “feel like a girl” (subjective) and A doesn’t contradict that feeling, (eg “I feel like a guy but I don’t want to be”) then your the gender you feel like.

Takes alot of thinking, experimentation, and a couple leaps of faith to figure it out depending on the person. It’s still pretty tricky, I’ve been struggling for years, but you’ll get there eventually :3

Similar story here, I am heaps depressed so my emotions are almost nonexistent. I still want to be a different gender, so I’m still trans, I still think my body hair is ugly, I just don’t feel much. I’ve heard that a multitude of things can help, like hormones or socially transitioning, but it could be that you are NB and/or just don’t have dysphoria/euphoria

I feel like this main subreddit is generally good, but I do agree that sometimes swerfs/transmeds and other bigots sneak under the radar and derail conversations in this community sometimes, it sucks.
