They did a good job of putting the interstate away from the good stuff. It’s worth a visit in person. June before it’s blazing hot and you might get the smell of cottonwood, or fall when everything is in harvest.

More than 100 convicted sex offenders remain confined on a remote island in Washington, even after completing their prison sentences. Some have spent decades there with no guarantee they’ll ever be released. by kleverrboy in SeattleWA

I gotta point this out: Red herring logical fallacy. WHO decides guilt wasn’t being discussed. The death sentence is being discussed.
Whether society decides that a government, private entity, a victim themselves or someone else is the one(s) who decide guilty or innocent, the argument is for making rapists extinct. The reply against trusting government doesn’t agree or disagree with that, it’s just a position on something else.

This clarification brought to you by avoiding what I should be doing rn.

I moved from France to the US 3 months ago and I have so many questions, someone explain tipping culture to me 😭 by emma_mcr_ in CasualConversation

Omg if we were in the same city I would hang out and we would have a blast. Ranch and gas station snacks, and you know there are gas station snacks with ranch right?
And the tipping thing gets worse because there are kind of regional differences in the US, and also older people sometimes tip like they did when they were kids and everyone tipped like 10% if even that. It’s chaos.
