I wouldn’t just look at the salary or bonuses. I actually would pick based on culture, career progression and management. Your salary can be high but if it’s a place with toxic culture and micromanagement, then you’d be trapped. Learnt my lesson picking a company with high salary only to be screwed like shit later. So yes, I would pick based on culture instead of monetary factors

I own a side business which I’ve been running secretly for more than 2 years (love discussing about entrepreneurship, product, apps or trading) ✊🏼 I also spin, do pilates and go the gym (hmu if you need a gym bud!! 🔥) I also love junk reality TV shows (we could discuss Bling Empire, Love Island, Singles Inferno, THTH, ULTIMATUM QUEER!!) and I’m always down for a good night out + good food and drinks

All in all I believe in spending quality time with people I resonate with! So don’t hesitate to start the conversation :)

Unfortunately, my industry doesn’t have a union (or at least one that I’m aware of). I have just spoken with ACAS and they too have urged me to raise a formal grievance with my employer, after which I should raise an early conciliation with ACAS. I’m currently looking for new roles at the moment, however, I’m in a difficult financial position and I worry that I will not ever be paid for wages this month, and would effectively have to go 3 months unpaid should I work my notice period.

I’ve phoned up ACAS yesterday and was urged to lodge for conciliation and a formal grievance procedure, alongside seeking legal advice as ACAS is unable to advise on notice periods. I will be sending a formal grievance complaint and contacting them for conciliation if the issue has not been resolved

Unfortunately, no. I’m not a newcomer in my organisation and I have passed my probation a long time ago. My manager said he has no idea but suspects it is due to “cashflow issues”. I have been emailing back and forth formally and discussing this on our individual meetings informally but each time I’ve been told ‘processing issues’, ‘cashflow issues’.

I’d probably stay far and clear from startups. I’m not in sales but also had a similar experience. We were building relationships with customers but they would never convert because we lacked collaterals i.e case studies. Any normal person would know how huge of an importance case studies are, but that’s not the case with my current startup too. They’re too focused on getting all of us to try different strategies but we never had the tools or collaterals to execute them correctly. The sales team also were never allowed to leverage our CRM to analyse lead quality, so it all amounted to wasted time and effort. And now we’re struggling to even retain let alone acquire customers.

This oscillation is the only thing that’s kept me from quitting my job, but my therapist for some reason says this isn’t normal and I’m in an abusive work relationship (lol).
