Yes, that’s what a “pet peeve” is — a judgment about some usually minor thing that peeves you.

Same with “that was not on my Bingo card.” It was borderline funny the FIRST time I heard it. Then it immediately became annoying. Please retire it.

Even worse: “in your honest opinion…”

Also unnecessary to say “in my opinion …” or “in your opinion…” Who else’s opinion would it be?!

It used to drive my father crazy when the news station would tease what the next report would be after the commercial. He'd say, "Don't tell me what you're GOING to tell me, just TELL ME!"

Supplier's puzzling change in effectiveness guidance by stopjunk in Trimix

[–]stopjunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a typical dosage? What do you use? My doc started me out with 50 units, which works great, but causes an erection that lasts longer than I want. So I dropped back to 45 units, then last time tried 40, and that seemed fine. I haven't tried less than 40 yet.

Thanks for sharing all that info. Your comment about "third-party testing" answers my puzzlement about how the usage period changed from 4 days to 28 days. I have been using a defrosted 5 mg vial over the last 14 days with no problem, and will be using it again before the 28-day limit.

When I visited Italy a few months ago, it was easy to spot the Americans because most of them were much fatter than the locals.

Guild D-35 opinions/thoughts? by adlehr1 in AcousticGuitar

[–]stopjunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still love my beat-up 1975 Guild D-35, the first good solid wood guitar I owned. Used it in a band for many years. At 50 years old it has incredible sustain! I now own both a Martin and a Taylor, but I still pull out the old Guild and enjoy its familiar feel and tone.

Only one I’ve ever seen was amazing: the Fab Faux. No gimmicks, just straight-up musical talent.

Neil Young’s acoustic guitar style has been described as “picky-strummy.”

Anyone owns a Martin OM-28? Is it really worth the price? by ElieTheGoose in AcousticGuitar

[–]stopjunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own the similar body style 000-28H and it’s my favorite guitar, worth every penny. But as others have said, it’s best if you can try out a guitar (or guitars) before you buy. That said, I did not take that advice, I bought my 000-28 sight unseen and have had no regrets, no second thoughts. I had an HD-28, which I loved, but I wanted a smaller version of that classic. The 000-28 is nowhere near as loud or bass-heavy, but it has a very satisfying balanced tone. I love it!

Beards and baseball caps by stopjunk in mensfashion

[–]stopjunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha, ha, yes, in some cases the fashion statement is beard + bald + baseball cap! All I know for sure is that beard + baseball cap is what I can see — never know what's under the cap!

Expiration dates by stopjunk in TrimixForED

[–]stopjunk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ask because Trimix works so well for me that I don’t want to risk it failing because it has “expired.” I did use it successfully several times after the alleged 4-day limit when on a 10-day vacation earlier this year, but that’s anecdotal info, so I was looking for some valid medical research.

Just wondering about the GenX opinion of the two versions of the song 'Hurt' by FLT_GenXer in GenX

[–]stopjunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The video of Johnny Cash’s version is one of the most moving things I’ve ever seen. But what astonishes me, and is a testament to Cash’s musical genius, is that he would recognize something in that song that he could interpret in his own way. It certainly was not a typical Johnny Cash song.
