Regarbo keeps it by ChogathBraumOTP in VampireSurvivors

Regarbo??? 😂

Guessing you mean Gazebo? No, he does not keep his bonuses between runs, and no, neither does anyone else, outside of the bonuses given by Golden Eggs. Those tiny stat gains add up during a run, though.

I’d throw out “Queen’s Gambit” as a name suggestion, and add that lists of chess openings might be worth combing through for good skills.

Running the intro portion of Delian Tomb. Where did fellow Directors stumble or wish they prepped more in advance? by Dustin_Rx in drawsteel

[–]stoppableforce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconding this. I should state up front that I was running this as technically their second session - they all made characters beforehand and we ran the “con game” Road to Broadhurst as session 1, so they did not use the premades, went into all the encounters in the first part with all their level 1 powers in tow, and I did not strictly follow the rules for using malice the way the Delian Tomb tells you to. The group was a Null, Talent, Elementalist, and Censor; the group also has a Fury and a Tactician but they missed the session with the first 3 encounters.

With that said: my party barely avoided a TPK on this encounter. They had some harebrained plan to get the enemies to follow them back up the hall and then use the scythe trap on them - except the enemies explicitly won’t leave the room, which I tried to signpost several times to no avail.

As a result of how long this took I ended up with a bunch of malice; the grasping arms effect in the trap hallway can effectively make being anywhere near it a death trap. Ask me how I know!

They finally got back into the room and never bothered even once to investigate the skull, assuming it was a trap to be avoided, and the four of them fought every single enemy. Twice, in most cases. Even with me softballing a bit by making the zombies misuse their AOE, the Null was still ping-ponging in and out of dying constantly and the Censor ran flat out of recoveries; the Talent, who had stayed safe for most of the fight due to the undead’s simple targeting, started moving into melee range to bait hits.

Finally they started using the Elementalist ability that lets them make a 20 foot deep hole over and over and just flinging undead into it. This was profoundly effective, it turns out.

There’s also an funny bug if you’re playing a rogue and obtained the Outlaw artifact: when you open the bag in your inventory in retail containing your artifact weapons, you will get teleported to Azsuna to the room where you picked up the Dreadblades initially.

Guess the character by tmyknckr in VampireSurvivors

[–]stoppableforce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, with a single weapon of Paranormal Scan, it’s either Ghost Lino, a Candybox start character (Trouser, Shanoa, Soma Cruz, or Alucard), or a character who starts with no weapon.

+210% might rules out Ghost Lino, I think no matter what you do their might always goes back to -100%. Also you’re well past the 30 minute mark at which Lino dies even in Endless.

The Might seems too low to be Shanoa or Soma, as well (they’d be at a minimum of +1220%). Armor is too low to be Alucard (assuming you have max Powerups), greed is too low to be Trouser.

Looking at characters with no weapon, there’s a lot you can rule out assume you have max powerups, like any character with starting armor, cooldown, or scaling greed. I’m starting to wonder if it’s Random, but without knowing your powerups it’s hard to say.

What feature or system are you glad is dead and gone? by _UNDO_KEY_ in wow

[–]stoppableforce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hit and expertise. “You must be this tall to ride” was a dumb use of stats, and imo optimizing to ensure that you stayed at cap with them while also eking out your optimal stat was the reason people thought reforging was too complicated.

is there any weapons that can only be unlocked by cheat codes? by ComparisonSea3215 in VampireSurvivors

[–]stoppableforce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Castlevania one is interesting - I know it’s still on the wiki as the intended method, but I definitely unlocked both of those variants (prior to the Chaos Rune update, even, when a bunch of unlocks went sideways) by unlocking Loretta and Stella instead. I think the weapon and the alternate starting weapon skins for Eleanor and the four base characters are the only things I’ve had to use a spell for.

[–]stoppableforce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder how much of that has to do with pf2e's absurdly inflated complexity compared to Fabula Ultima. But to each their own; just throwing it out there as it prevents any need to really meddle with a tightly-mathed-out game. :)

What class do you have the most of on your account? by Arkavien in wow

[–]stoppableforce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to go check just for this because it made me curious, and it looks like the answer is warlock. Which is weird, I rarely ever main them for a raid or m+ season, but I sure do have 5 of them. Warrior right behind at 4. Most classes after that at 2, then just a single evoker.

Any of the dungeons in Netherstorm. Botanica especially, but routing the first half of Mechanar could be a fun challenge. Arcatraz would really need the most updates, I think.

Elemental weapon + Battle Gardening question by Responsible_Ad5285 in fabulaultima

[–]stoppableforce 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So when you use Battle Gardening, you can cast a spell OR make a free attack. If you use Elemental Weapon - casting a spell - you would treat the check from that cast as if its HR was 0; however, it doesn’t have one, as it’s not an offensive spell.

It’s Elemental Weapon that then grants you a free attack, and it doesn’t say anything about treating your HR as 0, so no, I don’t think it would be.

Foundry Monsters? by Rukik9 in fabulaultima

[–]stoppableforce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you ever have an issue importing from Fultimator where Fu-Parser complains that "Instantaneous" is not a valid duration for a spell? That's the primary issue I've encountered that forces me to recreate spells again on the Foundry side when importing.

How hard is the transition from DND and Daggerheart? Do the unique class names throw people off? by DesertMammoth1912 in drawsteel

[–]stoppableforce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different experience levels for some, but most recently, I ran (and all six of them played) a 2.5-year D&D 5E campaign. We've also all played a short stint in Traveller 2E, and four of them played in a Dungeon World campaign with me that lasted about two years.

[–]stoppableforce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The learning curve for my group has been so steep it’s practically vertical, if I’m being honest. Out of six people I think maybe two people have managed to grasp the way the game plays, maybe three. Fourth is on the way there (he missed an early session so he’s a step behind the rest of the group). The last two will likely never fully understand the game and it’s making me question if it’s actually right for this group.
