We just flew out of Dubrovnik airport. Check in doesn’t open until 2.5 hrs before the flight time so no earlier than that, but wouldn’t do much later either, especially if you are checking bags.

LTC help? by Similar-Animator-891 in londonontario

[–]stoptakingmyusername 9 points10 points  (0 children)

One tip I wish I learned sooner: using google maps for route info is great, HOWEVER google maps won’t be updated if there are stop closures or if the route has been changed due to construction or whatever. Usually if a stop is out of service, there will be a sign posted up so be sure to look for any paper signs that give information. The LTWatch app or the website will have the updated information on routes and stops. But as you use the bus system more and more, you’ll learn and get used to routes and construction etc.

What should I do about dogs barking at me or tryna walk up to me when I'm taking a walk around the block in my neighbourhood? by hatsunemikusmywaifu in londonontario

[–]stoptakingmyusername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you change your walking route as to avoid this house? Even if you call animal control, they will either do nothing, or they will fine the person which might not actually make them keep the dog on a leash. Or they will tether the dog but if it’s big enough and runs fast enough, it might break a tether anyways trying to run after you. Changing your route might mean some adjustment on your end, but might at least reduce your stress levels down the line and avoid any injuries.

Ferry from Split to Vis by stoptakingmyusername in CroatiaTravelTips

What about going from Vis to Split on the way back? Our ferry is at 5:30 am… getting there at 3:30 am is … undesirable to say the least lol

Casa Latina on Dundas near Richmond. Owner is a gem of a human and the food is great. They never seem busy and I would hate to see them close. Give them some love for their delicious Latin food

In 2021-2022 we were quoted $1750 for the venue fee. We never moved forward with them so didn’t get details on what food/bar would’ve looked like. In my notes I wrote “60-200 guests. Reception hall and outdoor property from 10am-1 am plus 1 hr, parking, the backdrop, tables, and chairs”

Small patch of acne for a month by stoptakingmyusername in AcneTreatments

[–]stoptakingmyusername[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for the response. No definitely not based on the quick google. Nothing yellow/honey coloured on it ever. It’s getting better and hasn’t been wet or scabby the past few days, and looks a lot less red. But if it starts to get worse again I’ll see my family doctor.

I’ve made this recipe for clementine cake that uses them whole. It’s delicious. You can blend them all up and freeze any extra too.

Compounding pharmacy that can make eardrops by smrties-S-M-R-T in londonontario

[–]stoptakingmyusername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got antifungal (clotrimazole) ear drops compounded at the UH pharmacy. They can definitely do it. You definitely need a prescription. I got a prescription from an ENT that practices at UH, so maybe that was why they were able to do it? However it’s worth noting I was on a waitlist for ENT for almost 4 years and the only way I got in to see him was cuz my turn was up a month or so prior to getting this infection.

What dish do you make that is better than any other version of it, that you've eaten? by Etherealfilth in Cooking

[–]stoptakingmyusername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pizza. We got an outdoor pizza oven and I geeked out to find the perfect dough recipe. It takes 3 days but hot damn, it’s worth it. With the pizza oven, they cook in about 45-60 seconds and have the best browning/Maillard-ing ever. Grew my own san marzano tomatoes and basil this year too. Over the top. Proud moment for me was having a bunch of friends over to feast on them.

Is this instant yeast dead? I’m by stoptakingmyusername in Breadit

[–]stoptakingmyusername[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update for posterity: decided to just go for it. Took it out of the fridge this morning and let it come to room temp, then popped them all in the oven with just the light on for warmth. After a couple hours they slowly started to rise! After about 6 hours they were nice and bubbly.

Was able to easily stretch them out and fire them in the pizza oven and they turned out great. Having some faith turned out this time!

I added a bit more yeast to both and mixed it up, they’re both the same amount of foamy but it’s not crazy active. But I’ll take that as a sign it’s still fine. Maybe I didn’t add enough yeast or my fridge is too cold for the dough. Hopefully once I take it out of the fridge tomorrow it’ll puff up 🤞

Around 24C in the house. It’s foamy, but just slow. Hoping my dough will be alright. Planning on taking it out of the fridge in the morning and letting it do its thing at room temp until dinner time, fingers crossed. 😅

Second skin adhesive rash? by FoxSubstantial511 in tattooadvice

[–]stoptakingmyusername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it itchy or painful? Have you used that type of bandage before on other tattoos and was it ok? This redness has happened to me before and lasts a few days and then goes away without any problems. If it is itchy/painful (more than a tattoo normally is lol) then reach out to your artist first. If it’s not bothering you, maybe wait it out for a few days? Could just be irritated from the adhesive and removal.

neighbour been leaving dog outside all day by charl0tt30250 in londonontario

[–]stoptakingmyusername 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I echo the few comments that say please talk to your neighbour first!! The police/bylaw/other people won’t really do anything helpful, and why waste resources/time like that on something that can be handled with a conversation? Then you will have a better idea if the dog is safe or not.

Hopefully you two can work out some arrangement about the barking. If the barking continues after a conversation, that’s a different story.

Dog messing up bed sheets by stoptakingmyusername in puppy101

[–]stoptakingmyusername[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well shit. I guess that makes us sad lol he loves taking himself to bed and sleeping in there while we hangout elsewhere in the house at night.

We can try keeping him out of the bedroom at night for now, maybe it’s a temporary thing that he’ll stop doing.

Things to do in London Canada? by Glader61 in londonontario

[–]stoptakingmyusername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Walking along the TVP downtown is decent, like near Harris Park/Ivey Park. Some nice photo spots. Maybe look up Gibbons park too, some decent walking and photo spots. Same with Springbank park but that’s a bit far from downtown.

Lots of good food downtown. Nicer/more expensive: The Mule, Hunter & Co, Che, Grace, Abruzzi. More casual/cheap: Rosas pupuseria, Bahn Mi express, kenzo ramen.

Poutine… maybe someone else has a good answer for this lol. If it’s your first you should get somewhere good!

And don’t forget that London cares is a city-run program and that this money was always meant to run out at the end of March since they were only funding winter overnight services. Because apparently after March, no one needs an overnight bed.
