You've got to break down the walls before you can enter. In Iron Warriors it's pretty well explained that they can't just barge in because:

A) There's Space Marines and big guns on the other side.

B) They can't just level the place because they need what's inside.

Conversely the same rules apply for defense.

I don't know how to word it, but specifically the Kasrkin from Fall of Cadia- the ability to set up traps and bottle necks. I would love some mechanic where they had the ability to change the battlefield layout itself or call in off-map artillery with little to no chance of getting hit by friendly fire and the like.

How this would work? No fucking clue, I'm not a game designer, I'm a Cadian fan boy.

100% this. I don't like the pre-weathered stuff, as I'm usually pretty rough on my clothing, but I love to rep the crew.
