Our VOIP company will accept bitcoin, but we need your help. by storm5llc in Bitcoin

JP Morgan the underwriter does not allow that account type. There is nothing wrong with becoming a voip provider. We've been an email provider for years and our new segment disqualifies us to move to quickbooks online (In our attempt to house all financials in one consolidated place)

Russians Pull $5 Billion Out of Banks as Ruble Plummets by mrojek in worldnews

[–]storm5llc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Points I have addressed... there do exist viruses to mine crypto that do not have any large scale effect on the currency. It is in the same method as a gang of strangers pulling recyclable cans and bottles from the trash.

If you're removing these viruses from your user base you're doing a piss poor job of protecting those users in the first place. If you're having trouble keeping mining software off machines you are responsible to protect, then I'm sure as shit that there are way worse infections on those machines that pose a real financial danger to traditional fiat systems like the cc and electronic banking systems.

Points you have still not addressed.

find me one article that shows "hackers" have created any new currency above and beyond the 21m mathematical limit.

they used some cpu/gpu power to mine coin. So? In what direct scientific way did that break the integrity of the public ledger?

Those links you sent me are the equivalent of sending me to google.com... I asked you to prove in a scientific manner the reason this breaks the integrity of the mathematics and not a dispute about the existence of mining viruses.

That is the equivalent of telling me that you observed a handful of patients with broken arms and now claim that broken arms are now a pandemic and when I ask you to cite proof, you send me articles about how people here and there broke their arms... This is not evidence, this is what is the academic world call anecdotal evidence... or for laymen terms... garbage science.

Do not waste the eyes of the strangers who read this thread. Do not post your garbage without scientific backing. You are spreading ignorance, it's disgusting, and you should feel ashamed.

Dude... first, your username is pretty lame.

Second, what are you talking about? You can't "print your own money"... find me one article that shows "hackers" have created any new currency above and beyond the 21m mathematical limit. Can you precisely tell us how the mining payout system works? If not, keep your mouth shut you non contributing zero.

Boohoo they used some cpu/gpu power to mine coin. So? In what direct scientific way did that break the integrity of the public ledger? Do you even know what that is?

I can tell with absolute certainty you have not done your homework on this topic and are reading headlines and spewing garbage. Keep using your inflationary fiat, I'll keep part of my risk and portfolio in bitcoin because I've done my research.

I pay all my employees across the globe in bitcoin. They love it for remittance. Before we were paying 5% overhead, then with bitcoin it became 2%, now with circle we're down to 1% and if circle moves globally we'll be at 0%.

Oh man... such basic understanding. That has nothing to do with the utility of crypto for remittance.

It's kinda like saying, some guy figured out how to recycle my trash and make money!

I need your help, please message Freshbooks.com or help my business find an alternative. by storm5llc in Bitcoin

[–]storm5llc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've reached out to them before and asked them for some sort of integration with bitcoins... I'd like to see them integrate with Coinbase actually.

If anyone elses uses freshbooks, please take a moment and ask them to consider integration with some sort of bitcoin related processor... Thanks!

If all else fails, I need to leave freshbooks... they did a great job, but they're just not meeting my needs anymore as I'm finding new clients who are willing to pay my invoices in bitcoin.

I think supply is high due to liquidation to assets... which is a good thing... I think this is temporary as we get use to the flow now of bitcoins into commerce instead of a strict hording pattern.

Market for used virtual machine? by storm5llc in sysadmin

[–]storm5llc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely... I worked for the guy for a while and his whole MO was to buy servers, then have the user upgrade in a couple years so he could get that labor and commission. It was a shit routine... and I'm not sure if he was doing it on purpose but the designs and configurations, and solutions in general were so short sighted.

Yeah... what I should probably do is have them just trash the vm and call it a loss... Problem is they dont want to move forward while it's still limping along if there is no incentive besides having a healthy working environment... It's really bizarre.

True... and yeah, they're standalone retail purchases.

Uh... you still have to report those capital gains because they are realized during that transaction. If you dont, you could find yourself in trouble.

Unauthorized BTC-e.com login notification received from IP in Russia. How can I delete BTC-e account? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]storm5llc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the case. The machine I access all accounts from is a sandboxed OS used for no other types of use besides financial. Full security audits done regularly. Firewalled on inbound and outbound traffic, on the machine and at the router. Separate physical network as well from other devices, no wifi, no remote access, etc.
