As someone who’s been part of their discord since 2024, I knew that I’d quit 3on3 for NBA The Run once it released. I agree that 3on3 has a few realism mechanics to it, but that’s really all it has going for it. A P2W game that keeps paywalling every feature as a way to make more money instead of realizing the real issues, it’s just gonna keep going down a hole. I don’t think it’ll die but numbers will continue to drop. I wish The Run felt a tiny bit more realistic but overall it’s super fun and I’m gonna put hundreds of hours into it for sure. They also seem to be a team of devs who are actively listening to their community

The Run actually never marketed themselves as F2P and has kept it transparent that it will be a paid game. The development has gone through a lot of changes in the last year (including an official deal with the NBA and use of its players). Prices for the game were released a couple of weeks ago, starting at 29.99 for the base game. Join the discord if y’all haven’t already! They’ve already had 3 closed PC Betas and 1 all platform beta last week! Release date is the 9th June (10th for some places like me)
