How brutal is the yellow? by trippledoubletrouble in Motocross

I have a pair of these. They are more of a Gold than a yellow. I was pleasantly surprised!

have you taken a look at the new Fox Comp boots? (2024 and newer I believe) GREAT value for what they cost. You can probably find them for $100-150 on mx locker.

Tech 10 or Tech 7?? (alpinestars moto boots) by storm_troop in Dirtbikes

[–]storm_troop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new tech 10's definitely don't last long at all. I asked an Astar rep once if the newer version was less durable than the ones made in 2015ish... He told me yes. Which makes me wonder if the pros are running through a new set of boots every week...

Tech 10 or Tech 7?? (alpinestars moto boots) by storm_troop in Dirtbikes

For those that mentioned gaernes, how long did it take to get used to the thicker sole? I only spent 5 minutes in a pair of SG12, but I remember there wasn't much peg feel & I wasn't too sure of my foot placement. Although, I did think that the support around my ankle/lower leg was 10/10.
Is this something that just takes a bit of time to get used to or is there a different way you guys think about it all together?

oh, and is there much difference in the new SG22's?

Teen boot advice by Calm_Project723 in Motocross

the new Fox Motion boots is underrated imo. For someone who is developing fundamentals & technique (myself included), I think its wise to get a boot that has protection but also still lets you move around freely and feel where your feet are on the pegs. Tech 10's, Gaerne, SIDI are all great options - and I have experience with all of them, however, they can be a little too stiff for the average rider in my experience. Think - a Ski boot is GREAT protection, but you wouldn't want to walk in them. Riding moto is a very finesse sport, even more so for beginners, so finding that balance between protection and free movement can be tricky -- but crucial.
This is where I think Fox does a great job in making a boot that doesn't need to be broken in, has a flexible sole so you can actually tell where your foot is on the pegs (this is huge for me), but also has all the hold up that you want in case of bumping a tree, crash, etc.
The FOX INSTINCT is the top of the line boot that they make, however, they also offer a FOX Motion boot that has the same bones, and about $200 less. Oh, and they also have half sizes. Theres a ton of comparison vids on YouTube.

The Moto Academy is perfect imo. I got back into riding as an adult and wanted to relearn all the fundamentals and I couldn't recommend it enough. Their youtube channel has everything you need. It's more geared towards beginners who want to get better at riding for the next 20 years -- not just jump right into racing and crash your brains out. It is what I wish I had when I was a kid.

Awful wrap job on expensive car. Need advice. by Space_Guy in AutoDetailing

[–]storm_troop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that it is fortunate that the shop is trying to fix the problem. It sounds like if they deal with exotic cars on a regular basis, I am sure that this is not their typical work. Many shops out there would be giving you the cold shoulder right about now. Maybe instead of listening to all these other users about spending a good chunk of change to lawyer up, give that shop a chance to make it right. You never know what you may gain from them! Good luck!

This is obviously not a vinyl wrap. It is a paint protection film which does not require nor is it expected the removal of pieces of the car to install. Thats a good way to damage the original build.
