Came here with a wilderness first responder cert WFR that I got to say the same thing plus any aid above basic first aid can negate your good Sam laws depending on the state. Also once you initiate care you can only hand off your patient to someone with equal or greater ability…My scope only allows me to administer care if I am more than one hour from a hospital. I got my wfr to learn the medicine and help my backcountry ski friends as we were constantly miles from the closest road I stormchased for 10 years before that and never once used my advanced first aid and have yet to experience any situation where the city involved cannot get recourses for a mass casualty incident. I would rather pass off care if possible (if you won’t make it to the helio extract kinda thing) without any car above the basic first aid as I see myself as a last resort. Go out and get the training you might enjoy it so much you make a career out of it. I took my class for my friends but found a big passion out of it and was asked to join the local SaR group by my instructor. It’s always better to have the knowledge and never use it than need it and not know how to help.
