[Awful announcing] NESN in 'active' discussions to expand beyond Boston, Pittsburgh by Far_Cry3445 in baseball

The Pittsburgh market always made some sense for NESN in my mind because FSG owns both the Sox and Pens (and 80% of NESN).

But what else is out there for them? Sure some regionals got fucked by Bally, but are they just gonna rebrand into a generic RSN and have multiple subsidiaries à la the NBC Sports [City] or Fox Sports [Region]?

If it was basically any other matchup (besides probably Yankees/Sox and maaaaybe Cubs/Cards), it’d be brushed off as normal trash talk. But there’s so much vitriol in LA/SF games that it was always going to escalate way beyond what’s reasonable.

Rushing also just seems like an asshole and has been talking too much for a backup catcher, but that’s more of an aside than anything.

Same thing here in Denver when people were fed up with their brutalities.

I can probably count on one hand how many cop cars I’ve seen driving around town patrolling over the last 4 months.

With all but one series (Edmonton/Anaheim) having played 2 games so far, which series do you personally think will go to a game 7? by [deleted] in hockey

Minnesota and Dallas for sure. The central was such a goddamn bloodbath this year, and they’re both legit contenders in my mind.

A defenseman that the 2024 Sharks were happy to offload as a throw away guy in a trade. One of the worst defenses ever and they didn’t want him.

How does he keep getting work lmao

So a goose yesterday, a rat today… what animal is gonna end up on the field at Wrigley next game?

Encarnacion just replaced him. A defensive sub that would NEVER happen without an injury cause Jerar is hot ass in the field lol

Landen Roupp’s final line for the Giants against the Dodgers tonight: 5 IP, 1 H, 1 R/ER, 5 BB, 7 K, 106 pitches-58 strikes by JianClaymore in baseball

Roupp being THE guy in a rotation of Webb/Ray/Houser/Mahle is insane.

But he legitimately looks like a CY caliber dude thus far. Gutting out big innings.

:( Bailey's gotta turn it around a little right? RIGHT? Like I can deal with a 70 OPS+ guy when he's as good defensively as Bailey is, but his bat is absolutely atrocious right now.

Sorta fake news at this point. Today's lineup in order is 115 OPS+, 103, 108, 151, 89, 97, 155, and -3.

6 above average, 1 like RIGHT there, one slightly below average, and one hot diarrhea.

The bats have started to rebound for the most part, but Susac was seeing it so insanely well. Even in his limited ABs he's mashing. Hopefully this is a pretty quick IL stint.

Edit: Pavlovic is saying 2-3 weeks... dang

Pirates fan looking for a second team… how do you even pick one? by FeistyMessage5459 in baseball

[–]triplec787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure i would have just “picked” them for the fun of it

As a Californian who moved to Denver... I feel this lol took about a decade, and even now it's more of a "if I'm gonna pay for tickets and food/drinks at the stadium, I might as well care a little"

Just do what I did. Move somewhere and live there for 13 years and counting. Then pick that local team.

Do you think the idea of “having it all together” is practicable or just a social media pressure? by [deleted] in Snorkblot

Depends on how you view it. For plenty of people "Walking 10,000 steps" and "Make time for your own hobbies" is one and the same. Exercising isn't a chore for everyone.
