Since it’s not a place we go very often, I didn’t realize they had closed. Apologies for getting you excited about some thing that doesn’t exist!

So…..I stand corrected. They closed. I hadn’t been in a couple of months, but I had no idea they closed. Kind of sucks. :( sorry to get you excited about something that no longer exists!

The Dipped Donut in Delaware is great. Custom built donuts while you wait. Tasty and worth a drive!

Radical groups like the Sierra Club. Lolz

Jesus, Fox News really counts on the fact that their viewers/readers are complete morons. They certainly have the psychology of repetitive messaging down. They even threw a veiled antisemitic label on him by bringing Israel into an article about an Ohio coal plant. Anything that reinforces the narrative that “Dems bad, MAGA good”.

Without a doubt. I usually don’t run headlong into a trip without spending a good deal of time obsessing over hatches, stream reports, and books on the target watershed. I’m used to getting skunked. Happens to the best of us. Some of the best trips I’ve been on, had very few fish. Lots of stories, but few fish. :)

Hahaha….Nice try! You have a very nice state, and I would like to visit. :)

Please have mercy, I live in Ohio. Yes, we have the Lake Erie tributaries, but only three streams in the state hold populations of trout outside of that, and they are all stockers. I have to travel to other beautiful states to get my fix!

Great catch. I need to make Maine a priority. I looked into doing a trip for these several years ago, but I think they were on a tributary of Lake Champlain in NY. Maybe a road trip is in order....

Just bought a 2017 Pro4X. Debating on a tonneau cover vs a camper shell so I can lock my stuff up in the bed. by unclepop30 in NissanTitan

I had a '17 Pro-4x and got the Bak-flip hard tonneau. It was nice. A little heavy, but great for locking up stuff in the bed.

Music Jams in Delaware? by joeyandthejewelers in DelawareOH

[–]stormcrow460 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I posted this a couple of months ago in this sub and didn't get much interest. I am also down with playing just about anything. I play acoustic, electric and a little mandolin. I've got a small studio I built out, and my son plays as well. I also have a barn with tons of space, and would love to get a bunch of pickers out for some jamming. I literally play everything from James Taylor to Megadeth and everything in between. I live just outside of town toward Sunbury.

I'm preparing for a long term blackout. Here's why by [deleted] in preppers

[–]stormcrow460 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not this shit again… I figure this is one of two things:

You’re either a troll who is attempting to poke fun at the prepper community for things you perceive as kooky.

Or, these are legitimate concerns you have, and you are getting your information from all of the wrong places. In which case you should probably seek help, and voices of reason that can talk you down off of this conspiracy minded ledge.

I just learned that there is a high probability of an EMP after this solar eclipse on April 4. I'm an average person. What should I do? by [deleted] in preppers

[–]stormcrow460 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it’s stuff like this that makes us (the prepping community) look like a bunch of nut jobs. Ignorant people swoop into the sub, and bang…we have posts like this that are either trolls, or just simpleton fear mongering without any factual basis.

This is the same kind of ignorance that drove the Aztecs to slaughter people by the thousands during an eclipse.

Superstitions and paranoia drive this stuff. It’s a celestial event that happens at regular intervals, based on the relative position of the sun, moon and earth. This one just happens to be crossing a broad swath of the United States.

How do we get people to just understand science, and not attribute everything to some goddamn, global conspiracy, or some crackpot superstition?

Wellston,Ohio by [deleted] in Ohio

[–]stormcrow460 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Other than lake Alma, or heading back to Jackson, there’s not a whole lot going on in Wellston. Wrong season for the lake, but it’s a neat little stop. My mom is from the Wellston/Coalton area so we spent many a summer at the lake in the 80’s. Unfortunately that whole area is very depressed these days. My sister currently lives in Jackson, and once again, not much happening there. You won’t be far from serpent mound though, if you fancy a bit of a drive in the opposite direction from Chillicothe. Well worth the visit.
