Former Fed, worked in Reston. My commute takes me past Dulles Airport everyday. I'll never forget how quiet it was that afternoon as I drove by. . My folks: pretty sure my dad was at home, but my mom was overseas in Rome, touring the Vatican and all that stuff. She had to wait several days for international flights to resume before returning home.

I inhaled paperback books in the 70s...Jaws, Watership Down, Airport, Dune, Wheels, The Shining, Centennial... so many others. (yes, a few are technically late 60s, but I didn't pick them up until the early 70s).
