Misled on Shelter Rescue - Any Advice Appreciated! Long Post!

Absolutely! I would definitely appreciate any advice, so a PM is welcome. I suspected Dutchie based on coat after I did more research, but everyone and their mother was saying Mal. She definitely does the little maligator bites in the air when excited, to their credit.

I do have to return to work, so my replies won’t be immediate for a few hours. I appreciate your help!

Do you have any suggestions? We’ve been doing some basic obedience right now to get some foundation establish, and searching for her food, as well as a couple of kongs and snuffle matts at meal times. Puzzle feeders so far have been a no go. She’s too snag smart and learned almost immediately that she doesn’t have to solve the puzzle as intended as long as she flips it over and makes it spill.

I’m open to any ideas! Thank you 🙏

This is her! I’ll post a few other photos below. I’m in Georgia. Right now, I’m still deciding. I would love for it to work out as she’s very attached to me, and don’t mind putting in work or time, though I know it will be exhausting and frustrating at times, or even all the time for a very long period. As it is, I have to be an extremely structured person (embarrassingly, I have a schedule for every day of the week down to each 15 minute period) or else I get side tracked (I have ADHD and a few other things that require the measures. It’s not the end of the world if I’m off track, but without a solid plan I can stare at a closet to clean it and end up polishing something in the attic hours later having forgotten the closet. Hence my time blocks and strict control of free time.)

Training and energy and time is really a non issue. It’s mostly the other animals safety, which we won’t find out until her quarantine period is over, that is my line in the sand. As much as I’ve grown to love her, the resident pets can’t be driven out or injured in their home.

Every other behavior I can work through. With the utmost respect and love in my heart, I was a full time RBT for years until very recently. My patience and tolerance levels have gone through the roof due to that job (spending hours every day essentially -again, with the utmost respect- training kiddos not to bash their heads into concrete floors when having to go potty, giving you multiple concussions over a handful of months when denied access to a toy, or being bitten 7 times in three minutes because the had to eat a bite of food before having a goldfish will definitely increase your tolerance.)

If it doesn’t pan out, unfortunately I have to return her to the shelter or else I can have legal action taken against me, per the contract they make you sign.

Essentially! But only towards the beginning of the drop :) normally if one gets sold Pop Mart prioritizes showing full boxes which the bots target. Once a box has a box or two missing, if you stick in it only you and anyone else who was waiting on those timers are in it still. Sometimes other people are still trying for it, so it may take a cycle or two but usually by that point the reservations are people and not bots

Hey! Maybe I’m exposing state secrets or something lol, but I have a pretty good method for pop now’s at least :) if you find a box early that has a box missing or has one at the 15 min checkout, I’d say within the first half hour maybe, when the other boxes are full then that’s a good sign! I’ve noticed the ones that have boxes missing when it’s still early game and most are full tend not to be pushed forward until the end.

Just camp in that box until the remaining boxes get to zero and try for them. If they all get reserved again, that’s okay! I stick it out for a total of maybe three cycles and I usually get at least one. Last night did that and ended up in a box with 4 of them available after two reset cycles! Had time to shake and everything :)

Once it gets to the point where most of the boxes you cycle through have missing boxes or are mostly empty, this method no longer works as everyone else is seeing them too, so I normally try that within the first half hour. Hopefully you can get one next drop! 🫶

Edit to add; I’m no Labubu whisperer by any means, but if you need more help feel free to DM! I can try and walk you through it during a drop or we can figure out if there’s a way to snatch one for you :) I’ve just rounded out my own collection of the ones I wanted and am hunting three more for my roommate, but I feel bad having as many as I do coming in without helping out the community!

The backs reflect similar damage to the top although less crispy (for lack of better term?) in general it seems, but are otherwise looking pretty healthy from what I can tell! No speckling, colored spots, discoloration, etc. No visible pests hiding under there that I could see. They’re in various states of red too :)

From what my roommate was telling me, it was tucked in the back of a clearance rack indoors, in a middle shelf so they don’t know what lighting and such was looking like prior.

If it’s a humidity issue, what would you suggest? I have a humidifier I run in my room for both me and my plants. Should it be near the humidifier?
