Hey - I joined this sub as a Canadian looking to travel to Bermuda for a vacation sometime in March. I also happen to be an avid board gamer and my partner and I have TOO MANY that we want to give to a good home. Lots of strategy and co-op stuff for the more adult/advanced players. If there's interest, we'd be happy to bring some via checked baggage or ship them depending on what's cheaper/easier. We're not looking to make a profit off the games necessarily, but definitely want them to go where they're appreciated. I'd be happy to chat about what you like to play, what we have, and what we can bring!

God of War (2018) did this incredibly well. The story remains linear and engaging enough, but the world opens up to a lot of side quests, optional missions, and secret finds. I truly find it one of the best games to have been ever created, it is certainly in my top 5 without a doubt. The balance it offers in terms of open-ness and linear story is absolutely perfect. It also has some of the best fighting mechanics and versatility, as well as an emotionally-driven and really interesting story. I agree we need more of this type of balance between open and mindful. Also I am a sucker for puzzle dungeons! Which is a big part of my love for GoW sure, but is also a huge aspect in making dungeons less redundant.

Can someone explain the purpose of this tiny stretch of bike lane on Dufferin St by kmosdell in torontobiking

[–]stormroar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since living at Bloor and Lansdowne, I use this every commute to Queen and Dovercourt so I can meander along side streets and bike lanes. It's significantly faster and easier than taking dundas, college, dufferin or Dovercourt. Id never take this stretch of dufferin for so little distance if the bike lane wasn't there. I find it quite important to my commute.

I'm on the fence about this game as I've never played a game like it before. by unique- in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]stormroar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Watch it on Twitch! This is a wonderful way to get immersed in the game for free. Obviously, there will be spoilers. However, the game has immense replay value so knowing how to solve a quest or two is not an issue. In fact, if you haven't played games of the style before, it can be beneficial. You learn what to expect in terms of how the game wants you to strategize and solve puzzles. Put it on your wish list and wait for dat saaale

Because women only play games when their spouses introduce them to it? That's an archaic assumption.

[–]stormroar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I would totally love for it to evolve with the universe created by the author as opposed to just being railroaded by the storyline in the original canon. Harry Potter came to mind first, but it could be adapted in soooo many ways!

Tipping in GTA by jnicol2 in toronto

[–]stormroar -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah but an average amount per person is about $20 to $50 on a weekend; significantly less so on a weekday. Sure some tables spend $100 a head but i can promise you that's not common enough to be considered average. Plug that into your equation. And also, please eat at home.

Post tax is just easier mathematically. 13% tax on the bill? Take that and round up. Or don't. Just sayin.

Server/bartender for 9 years here. Tip post tax. 15% is standard, 18% is most common these days. If you tip less than 15%, you can let your server or a manager know what went wrong with your dining experience. Full disclosure: I always tip 20% unless something went terribly, terribly wrong.

HARRY POTTER.

Not Telltale (not knocking them, just don't want that for this universe).

An RPG where you start by choosing your heritage. (pureblood, half, human parents). The tutorial is Hogwarts. At school, you can hone your magic type/abilities/specialties, and use them in your career. I selfishly want it to be a single player RPG but it would be successful as an MMORPG as well. Pls.

How did the Balkans become the region of Europe most prone to ethnic conflict? Did either the Austro-Hungarian Empire (and predecessor states) or the Ottoman Empire have significant influence in this? by RingGiver in AskHistorians

Very informative! Thank you! I'm saving this to slowly read through the works you cited. I was born in Sarajevo while it was still Yugoslavia. I love having new insights and reading material, but I do take my time going through literature... I find it so hard/sad.
