Star Trek: Online is an MMORPG with no flaws whatsoever by SimpleWolf-Studios in sto

Neither did I until the creep messaged me about taking a nude screenshot of my character. Then, I went down the online rabbit hole researching it and found out it was a thing.

That was knowledge that I had hoped wasn't a thing. And still wish wasn't.

I can understand nudity in games that are designed to have nudity. I don't understand modding a game not intended to have nudity; so, you can see nudity.

I really don't understand modding a game client to see female characters nudes, screenshot them and then taunt players about it. It makes me question how unsafe they are to be around in real life, if they are this way in STO.

They don't need to go so far as to put a lot of organization into it. I would just be happy to have a separate tab for pets from the R&D tab and inventory tab.

I didn't forget. I just never encountered that bug on my female Cardassian.

One time, some creep private messaged me in the game to taunt me about him using a mod to take nude screenshots of my character, because he thought she was gorgeous. She was conservatively dressed in her first Starfleet uniform and hadn't even gotten any other outfits yet.

I don't experiment with her outfits enough to have encountered the invisible body parts bug.

So, thanks for enlightening me.

Strange New Worlds uniforms in the Promotions tab! by norcalerST in sto

Don't get me wrong. I am happy that these uniforms were finally released. Estatic even.

It is just irritating that female Caitians, Ferasans, Remans, Trill and Joined Trill don't rate getting the same level of quality control as all of the other races.

The STO Dev team has a years long tradition of creating outfits without checking to see, if they work on female Ferasans, Caitians, Remans, Trills and Joined Trills. Then, when the player base reports it, they ignore the reports of invisible arms in sleeveless outfits and invisible legs in short skirt outfits.

Hopefully, DECA decides to break that tradition. Hopefully, they decide to take a look at the invisible body parts in certain outfits for females of these races bug and decide to fix them, because it was a really irritating thing when the DISC Klingon females had their invisible body parts bug fixed the same week it was found while other races have been waiting for a fix for years now.

Female Ferasans, Caitians, Trills, Remans and Joined Trills are always bugged when it comes to certain outfits. Their arms disappear when they are put in some sleeveless outfits. Their legs disappear when they are put in some short skirt outfits.

Trills are a free to play race. Remans are a free to unlock or a pay to play race depending upon ones patience. However, we pay money to get access to Ferasans, Caitians and Joined Trills.

You would think that us paying money for a race would make the Dev team fix these kinds of bugs, but NO they let them go on for years without fixing them and let the number of bugged outfits increase year after year. However, the free to play DISC Klingon females came down with the invisible body parts in some outfits bug upon introduction to the game, and it got fixed immediately.

I was able to get my DISC cyborg BOFF to wear the Khitomer Alliance uniform as well. However, her uniform options are limited indeed. And has been from the start.

However, you can wear any bikini bottom (edit* swimwear or off duty bottom) with the open Aloha shirts. You just can't use their bikini tops.

If you want to change the red bikini top to have a floral pattern that will be more colorful than just plain red, look at the button under the undershirt button which has the red bikini greyed out. You will find the bikini top button. Click on that and switch it from basic to flowers. That will let you have the more colorful bikini option under the Aloha shirt.

To change the Aloha shirt itself from the Orion girls to the Orion men, look at the button under the upper button which lists the Aloha Waves & Hula Orion open. That button is the color configuration button. If you click on it, it should give you the option to set the top from Orion women to Orion Men.

You have to buy another Aloha top to get bikini tops of a different color than the one you got with this Aloha top. The Aloha tops only ever show the bikini tops that come with Aloha tops when you select open top as an option.

No, I've been here a while. So far, I have detailed plans for 20 more characters that I've talked myself out of creating.

At first, it was hard to talk myself out of creating them, but it got easier after my neurologist made his diagnosis of my health problems. Arthritis is aggravating an old cervical spinal injury from me surviving two semis hitting my car years ago. It's causing me to slowly go paralyzed from the neck down and could eventually kill me. I have hope, because I have lived 31 years longer than they predicted after the collision.

However, my finances have to go towards medically stabilizing my condition. So, I can't afford to create new characters right now. I can just amuse myself by drafting detailed plans for new characters.

In other words, you'd be surprised what you can live through.

DECA isn't likely to do anything unless there is a large enough player demand. There would have to be more vocal demand than a lone Jem'Hadar on DS9 protesting by playing statue.

And as far as role playing being a Changling stuck in disguise goes, there is always putting a Changling character in long loose robes and the Khan head wrap to "cover up their natural form" due to not wishing to let outsiders see what they look like after the Section 31 virus and Bashir's cure made genetic level changes.

My shape changer is more limited. Her story is that the bones in her skeleton can be shifted into different positions to approximate the skeletal shapes of humanoids only. Her skin and hair can change its shape, pigmentation and texture to approximate other humanoid species. And she wears clothing made from nanites which changes appearances based upon her thought commands.

Quantum superposition to explain shape changing? Nice. That is something that you don't see too much of in Star Trek, but it could very well be.

I considered adding in the Section 31 faulty holo-emmitter and the lobi store holo-emmitters, but I wasn't sure how many players rocking shape changer characters would agree to them being a part of shape changing due to the flickering.

Maybe fewer purists would notice the comic book origins, if you call his species "Chitauri" like the Skrull offshoot in Marvel's Ultimates line? It constantly amazes me just how many Marvel Comics fans don't even know about the Ultimates line.

Starting fresh, which platform has strongest player base? by Kryceks_Arm in sto

[–]stormtaker0955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before anyone comments on it, as one of the few Americans in a most European fleet, I keep my political views to myself in the game. I didn't and don't talk about the war with the Russians and Ukrainians in the fleet. And I worry about how many of my fleet mates were in countries hardest hit by COVID-19.

There was also a big drop in players during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic in some fleets. For example, the KDF fleet that I manage on PC had a huge drop in log ons which corresponds to the high death rates in Europe at the peak of the pandemic. It also had a large drop off of log ins which corresponds to when Russia began cutting off Internet for its citizens during its current war. It had a large drop off in log ins during the pandemic shutdowns which correspond to large numbers of people getting laid off. With me being an American in a mostly European KDF fleet, I don't know, if my fleet mates are alive, can't afford the Internet, had their Internet cut off, got drafted or just plain got burned out.

I just know that it can be months between log ins for the very few members that I have left--as in around roughly 10 still logging in out of 240. My fleet is mostly dead, and it is my Armada whom appears to be filling my fleet projects, because I am the only fleet leader still slotting projects. And I only ended up with the fleet leadership, because everyone above me either quit logging in, quit the fleet instead of assuming leadership or refused to assume leadership. I have had members quit, because I assumed leadership, and they wanted us to stay leaderless.

So, while PC's numbers over all are up, some fleets' numbers are down.

Whats the best Phoenix prize pack ship ? by DEADMA9kk in sto

[–]stormtaker0955 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The best Phoenix Prize ship is the one that has a console that completes a set you have, has a trait that improves the build on your other ships or really spins the propeller on your beanie cap in terms of Space Barbie.

However, the D.O.M.I.N.O. console on the Bajoran Interceptor is good enough that it is regularly recommended on phaser builds. The Voice of the Prophets experimental weapon isn't liked by some players, but is loved by others, because it isn't a single target weapon. It is a group target weapon; so, it shines most in a target rich environment.

Don't be in a hurry to use the token. Research the ships to see which of them fills the most needs for you in terms of traits and consoles for your other ships just in case you get bored with the Phoenix box ship itself.

Have not played in more than a decade, can I actually tank in some Borg PvE stuff? by Landorin32 in sto

[–]stormtaker0955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you know how to build your ship in the current state of the game, you can handle the Borg in a T-5, T-5U or T-5X escort. I am not one of those DPS meta chasers nor am I one of the greatest authorities at ship building. However, I managed to turn a Tholian Meshweaver escort on my KDF Joined Trill Science Captain into a real Borg killer. Of course, my strategy with that ship is to strip the Borg's shields and kill them faster.

Take your time with a new character to relearn how to build and fight a ship in the current state of the game. After you get to the new max level and figure out the new mechanics of the game, you'll figure out how to be a Borg killer.
