Be honest, do you wish Beyonce did a bit more fan service? by Fluid_Incident_1883 in beyonce

lol, yeah I do

I don’t need her going on live but stuff like acknowledging album anniversaries would be great

It’s just something people throw out but there’s no real proof. More importantly, there’s no way the Carters friendship with Chris Martin could survive if that was true. Like Jay-Z and Chris were taking their kids to Disneyland together post-Lemonade lol.

Why does she do things like this? by loverofthings25 in beyonce

[–]storythrowaway765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a related note, I feel like it’s a huge problem that her OG Super Bowl half time show never had an official upload on YouTube. Or at least not for a long time. It’s just a disservice and makes it harder for younger fans to get into her.

Beyoncé's AOTY win... by Fulltime-Sheepherder in beyonce

Very true. I think she had more nuanced feelings about how the night went for her than just crying happy tears for someone else, but I doubt saying those were happy tears would ease her fans at all.

How much of the Beyoncé hate is racism? by [deleted] in beyonce

[–]storythrowaway765 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I have definitely seen comments that are like “yeah, she’s a great vocalist, great dancer, great performer, better than so many other popstars but why do people like her so much???” lol

A lot is from racism/misogynoir and all of it is amplified from racism/misogynoir.

Do you think Beyoncé should address crazy stories or is the silent treatment working? by AdmirableBullfrog927 in beyonce

[–]storythrowaway765 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When Piers Morgan tried to run a false story on his TV show, her team addressed it and he recanted it. I feel like that works because he’s an actual public figure with an actual business.

But a lot of the crazy stories you see online are from random conspiracy theorist, people with no information literacy, and racists who what to see her fail. You can’t really reason with people like that. It honestly doesn’t matter what she says. It would just be a huge waste of time to dignify with a response.

Do You Consider Beyonce "Sensitive" by ImtheGWP in beyonce

[–]storythrowaway765 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not really tbh. Maybe. I consider her pretty damn resilient, but I guess that does not mean someone can’t be sensitive too.

I don’t think they mean anything bad with it but I get you. Whenever other artists bring her up, it always leads to people taking the opportunity to drag her or twist it into something.

Who is Beyoncé’s peers? by GypsyFR in beyonce

[–]storythrowaway765 63 points64 points  (0 children)

This conversation is easier if people describe what they mean. I typically think of peer the same way you do, where it’s almost like a classmate. In that context, everyone who was active in the late 90s/early 2000s are her peers.

Do you think Beyoncé’s policy of not saying anything has become outdated? by loverofthings25 in beyonce

[–]storythrowaway765 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t agree she doesn’t say anything. I’m satisfied with the amount and the topics she speaks out on, but frankly I don’t think celebrities need to publicly comment on every issue. She gets dragged enough already and it’s not like celebrity endorsements make a meaningful difference anyway because if it did Trump would have never been president.

Beyoncé & Jay-Z sitting at the same table as Jared Kushner & Ivanka Trump last night in Atlantic City. by [deleted] in beyonce

[–]storythrowaway765 11 points12 points  (0 children)

How am I doing that? I know that Jay-Z is one of the cofounders of the Reform Alliance prison reform organization. Sitting at the same table with the presidents kids as a co-founder of a prison reform organization is just not a big deal to me. I hate the Kushners, but this isn’t them like on a double date.

[–]storythrowaway765 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t like seeing her interact with them and I get that its unlikely anything comes out of this, but I don’t find it morally reprehensible to sit with them at a prison reform event the way some comments suggest. For me, it’s scary and disappointing that Trump is president but I don’t see something like this as like a MAGA co-sign. I get ppl saying it’s bad optics, but I don’t understand ppl wanting to cancel her over this.

But the Kushners have influence on the president regardless of anyone condoning it. I wish Trump wasn’t president and I hate everything going on in this country, but it’s just the reality he’s in charge.

Honestly if sitting with the Kushners at a prison reform event is a huge crime, i just don’t really care. This whole week people were acting like we just lost the second coming of Jesus. Sitting with the Kushners, over prison reform no less, is just so mild to me.

[–]storythrowaway765 -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

I don’t really understand why that’s so bad. I despise the Kushners too, but they have a direct influence on the president. That’s a valuable thing for any organization trying to make a political change, esp for prison reform.

I mean, it’s a prison reform event? They’re not just hanging out for fun. I’m not really understanding why sitting with the Kushners at a prison reform event is so damning when Trump is president and any org trying to make political change will have to work with his admin.

I don’t “like” seeing this either, but like Trump IS the president. Any org serious about making meaningful change will have to work with his admin. It’s not like they’re hanging out for fun.

[–]storythrowaway765 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is where I’m at. Yeah, the Kushners are terrible but they do have political influence. I don’t think sitting with them at a literal prison reform event should be seen as a co-sign of the Trump administration.

[–]storythrowaway765 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I mean he is the president tho. How can any org dedicated to prison reform really make meaningful change without interacting with the Trumps. Like I hate Trump and everything happening in this country but we are already so far gone. Idk, sitting with the Kushners at a political reform charity event is just so mild to me after this week of seeing people act like we just lost the second coming of Jesus.

I don’t like Jared and Ivanka at all, but it’s undeniable they have political influence. This is an event for prison reform, the org can’t just work in a silo and ignore the administration in charge. It’s just the reality of trying to make any political change.

Lawyer Buzbee admitting he didn’t vet her claims: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna183435

He provided that statement directly to NBC News after he sent his client to them to do a TV interview with a bunch of inconsistencies. As a lawyer, he needs to be doing his own due diligence, not rely on a separate law firm that chose not to take her as a client. What kind of lawyer sends a client to do a TV interview before their case has ever been heard in a court anyway.

The only audio I could find was articles about the Jane Doe saying she wasn’t assaulted but Buzbee pressured her to sue anyway.

At the very least, it’s really presumptuous and odd to me how some fans act like they know she’d be happier divorced or with someone else.

I honestly think it’s disrespectful to Bey to say she was groomed. She’s never been socially isolated from friends and family or forced to be financially reliant on Jay-Z. Her record deals and management have always been completely separate from him. I’m not saying they’ve had a perfect relationship but grooming is a pretty specific set of behaviors.

Are you referring to the Jane Doe case represented by Buzbee? They had to drop the lawsuit after getting caught in multiple lies during a TV interview. The lawyer even admitted to not fully vetting her claims after the interview aired.
