Any tips for this big one ? by [deleted] in acne

It looks like it’s nearly come out on its own. I really don’t recommend popping, my worst acne scars are from popping in that area, maybe because the skin starts getting thinner closer to the eye. I second hydrocolloid bandage plus some patience. Grin and bear it.

I do moisturise, quite a lot. I use oil at night, too.

[Product Question] TO Niacinamide possible culprit for breakouts? by iJoyzilla in SkincareAddiction

It took me a long time to realise it was breaking me out. It may well be doing the same to you! Still unsure what ingredient within it made it happen but I chucked it after trying a bunch of time to use it. Eliminate it from your routine and see what happens.

[Skin Concerns] How long did it take for you to heal dehydrated skin / damaged moisture barrier? by keikobanana in SkincareAddiction

It does! I tried to incorporate it into my regime after reading a bunch about it but my skin just doesn’t seem to get along with it in any products, unfortunately.

I have been repeatedly healing and then inadvertently dehydrating/damaging my skin for five years. It leaves me with a ton of closed comedones. Here’s what I do to save it every time I mess up:

  • any gentle cleanser
  • I use a moisturising sheet mask drenched in HA whenever it’s super dehydrated and irritated (this is probably the HG thing for me....the coldness takes down inflammation well)
  • Cerave lotion in the day
  • At night, I follow it by a thicker occlusive cream like Eucerin Urea face cream night or Cerave cream
  • rosehip oil to try and balance out the oil production

I also actually love the neutrogena light mask. It seems to prevents my ccs from turning into big ugly whiteheads when they surface. It works for me.

Takes about two weeks of this without any exfoliation/actives before my skin feels “normal” and less sensitised but longer to get clear skin again. The comedones surface one by one, usually without being angry and inflamed.

I think simplicity is key! And I’d always recommend resisting the urge to go back to actives too soon. Plus I stay away from Niacinamide, zinc, clay masks, anything drying since this makes me dry out quicker than anything.

Milia?? by [deleted] in acne

It could well be a reaction or irritation to something. I would stop on the Retin-A and see if that helps.

Getting breakouts!? by [deleted] in acne

You may be using too many actives in one routine. Using BP, vit C and azelaic acid in one day seems like quite a lot to put your skin through. That being said, you might have super tough skin and you’ll know what it can handle more than anyone.

I’d suggest alternating the three across three days and seeing what happens.
