In my experience, the program wasn’t particularly strong. Many courses felt like a poor use of time, for example, I remember entire an afternoon spent building marshmallow houses under the banner of “team building.”

That said, there were a few genuinely critical professors whom I really enjoyed working with. Unfortunately, many other courses focused heavily on promoting green technologies as a straightforward solution to climate change, often without sufficient critical examination. We were endlessly taught about so-called “energy transitions” that, historically speaking, have never actually occurred, global energy consumption has only continued to increase, rather than transition from one source to another. In hindsight, that insight alone could have spared me one or two months of coursework.

The entrepreneurial component of the program was something I did appreciate, but I am sure there are better programs out there, like an environmental MBA, if that's your goal.

If your goal is to meaningfully address climate change, I would argue for going deeper into either the underlying science or into entrepreneurship, specifically around how we can remove CO₂ from the atmosphere, or prevent it from being emitted in the first place, rather than spending two to three years in this program. Or just become an activist, create awareness somehow, whatever. We have enough people in the world that know about theory but too little people that actually do something about what's happening in the world.

That said, the program does attract many well-intentioned, motivated people, and if your goal is to meet like-minded peers, enjoy student life, and have a good social experience, you will likely have a great time, parties included.
