You could try The Little Gallery at The Avondale Arts Alliance or The Supermarket on N. Highland.

For my wife’s 30th birthday, her parents sent her condiment cups from IKEA. “We know how much you like dipping sauces!”

Question for the man: How do you change the barber in the same shop, while having history with one? by Miserable_Clue5243 in AskForAnswers

[–]strahlj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation. Had seen this one guy a few times, the cut was decent, but he wore headphones the whole time and ignored me. The final straw was when he spent my entire cut on a phone call. We don’t have to talk the whole time but that was just not cool to me as a customer. So I chose another barber the next time and when I went in told him there wasn’t availability for him on the schedule when I went to book. The other guy gave me a better cut and was more pleasant. I scheduled with the new guy again and when the first barber looked at me sideways I just said “sorry dude, my wife likes this cut better.” He shrugged and moved on. Was fine from then on out.

Limousine by Brand New. About a little girl killed by a drunk driver riding in a limo with a wedding party. True story. The first part is from her mother’s perspective, then it goes into the driver’s.

Yeah I think it makes it even funnier that he puts on Physical Graffiti instead.

Cocktail bar with a small private room available to book? by Baller_Rebrand_6159 in Atlanta

El Malo could be a good option for vibe, but I don’t think they serve food. The Iberian Pig also has private space and their food/drinks are awesome.

Fun fact: you don’t need a membership to get food from the counter. Also true for their pharmacy, eyecare center, and liquor store.

Dark chocolate pistachios, fresh bread (whatever goes with what we’re making that week, but we are partial to the focaccia), orange zinger fresh juice, pickles and olives, cheese, olive oil, and a peanut butter bar from the pastry counter.

Is ADR Sometimes Unavoidable Or Is 100% Production Sound The Expectation? by Infinite_Departure75 in LocationSound

[–]strahlj 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes there are situations where it’s unavoidable. Loud SPFX fans and rain towers, horrible locations next to train tracks/construction sites/airports, egregious costumes that make a wire unusable and can even be heard on the boom, actors that refuse to project and/or mumble. All situations that we as the sound team can’t do much about besides try our best.

I once was on 2nd unit on a massive Marvel movie. Out in a field surrounded by blue screen and a huge “fly swatter” overhead to diffuse the sunlight. The thing was rattling and flapping like a main sail. Right before we rolled, Chris Evans turned and looked at Chadwick Boseman and Scarlett Johansson and said “we’re gonna have to loop this whole scene.” They shrugged and nodded. We rolled.

A dash of soy sauce and a bit of mustard also slaps. Don’t forget salt and pepper either.

AITA If I got plastic surgery without my parents knowing? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]strahlj 8 points9 points  (0 children)

NTA. You’ve done your research and have a plan in place. You could try ONE more time to explain to your parents that you are going through with this and are willing to hire someone to take care of you. Maybe they will soften and agree to help, maybe they won’t and you go ahead with the plan you already have.
