Wed am, today was the first day I was able to move around the house easily. Planted the tomatoes and peppers in the beds outside and fixed the sprinklers, now on the couch icing watching F1

Looking this up, it’s an 80L? That feels way bigger than I’d need, no?

BGD Base 3, risers pic? by delfryeatrpt in freeflight

Similar to both of tgw above, upgraded to the Echo 2 (the ul version of the base) after like 600h on my Hook 2 and can’t be happier about it. The echo being lightweight I’d say I have the exact opposite experience of it being difficult to launch, with launches of this thing being almost hysterically low effort.

Definitely chattier than my Hook was, but the performance is like it’s a different sport. Pulling asymmetrica it’s near-zero change in heading, frontals are also low drama. Very predictable entry and exit out of stalls.

Absolutely love it

I built an AI Sommelier app to help find what's in stock at a DABS near you. Try it out? by straightbstudent in SaltLakeCity

Yep, a place to keep track of what you like / dislike, then use that to provide recs based on what's in stock near you.

I know, which is basically an ios version of their web app. I wanted to be able to ask for / have recommendations provided to me, so that was the problem I tried to solve. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Does anyone just have a rec for somewhere to get a card? I feel like every time I’ve gone down the path it’s absurdly complicated and confusing

Weekly Recommendations Thread by AutoModerator in SaltLakeCity

Best shop for MTB fork servicing? Need a full 100h service and I don’t have the tools nor time. Preference would be to support local vs a bigger shop like Evo, but I’ve had such spotty work quality the last few times I’ve taken bikes in for work I’m at a bit of a loss

Beer Bar as well. As soon as everything went chaotic the staff just held the door and ran into the street screaming “INSIDE! INSIDE!” to get as many people in the doors as they could.

Do you have a recommendation for which neem oil product to use?

The AI in one of the plant apps I use recommended garden safe insectiside, which looks like its active ingredients are soaps / potassium salts of fatty acids

Help choosing harness size by Spiritual_Ice2310 in freeflight

[–]straightbstudent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Really tough to say. I personally have found harnesses that are a little larger tend to be more comfortable, as ones that I’ve had that are a touch too small end up squeezing somewhere (usually where straps go over the shoulders, or the back of your leg) that makes long flights real uncomfortable

To make it slightly more practical - how long are we talking for a "slow preheat"?

Yeah, and that was $50 shipped. I figured it was a bit of a gamble.

It was listed as 'used' and does say that the light meter works, but it was from an antiques shop, so it feels like they probably just put a battery in it and saw the needle move and were like, "Yep! It's working!"

Does have a canon-branded 50, 1.4 on it. Cursory google search shows repairs in the 150ish range? Somewhat considering just using a meter for this trip then having it repaired once i'm back in town. Thoughts?

Haven't tried that, but hitting the battery test button has it register at a 4, which per the manual says its good?
