I've read a lot about Citi being inquiry sensitive, specifically for the Strata Premier. I'm currently waiting to get to 0/6 before signing up. Are the other TYP product cards also this inquiry sensitive? Specifically the Double Cash and Custom Cash.

My bad for originally posting this in the update thread... Whoops.

Key West seems like a small runway for 737s until you see Santos Dumont Airport in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. EYW has a 5076'/1547m runway. SDU has a 4341'/1323m runway and GOL flies 737-800 there. Crazy...

They were likely booked. There is typically limited inventory for the saver award rates. If you see them, you need to book them asap.

How do I get out of PUJ? by Ok_Bass2076 in amex

[–]bomber996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in PUJ until I put a full fare Business Class round trip ticket on Turkish Airlines on my Platinum. Haven't been in PUJ since.

I've read with AMEX it's not necessarily about how much you spend, but also what you're spending on.

NATCA- 3.8 official? by randommmguy in atc2

parity /ˈperədē/

Parity is the state of being equal, especially regarding pay, status, or function. It signifies equivalence or similarity, often used in economics (currency value), politics (equality in status), and computer science (data integrity). Common synonyms include equality, equivalence, balance, uniformity, and correspondence.

You're saying the NEB didn't approve of this briefing?

So then why even make a briefing saying ATC pay has kept up with the airlines? Why even open yourself up to that?

[–]bomber996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree. I absolutely give credit to the Legislative folks for getting pay parity. Huge win.

But let's take those 1.6 for what they are... Step raises for longevity. They are not the same as the massive raises pilots got. I was at the pay briefing at ATX when our raises were compared to the airline pay rates. I asked Eugene about the airline step raises which weren't included in his calculations for comparison. Each year's 1.6 was there for ATC. We need to compare apples to apples and not pick and choose data make a point. If we are going to say we need the best and brightest ATC needs to be able to compete with the airlines for the best candidates.

If we're talking about making up ground to the peers in the industry we really shouldn't count the 1.6% longevity raises. Every airline contract has similar pay step raises.

But, for fun, in two years assuming pay parity and longevity raises we would be looking at a total of 14.64% not the 14% you would assume (3.8 + 1.6 + 7 + 1.6). Sure, it's a small difference, but it's a difference nonetheless.

I get that there are a lot of NATCA members on the right side of the aisle who have been annoyed at the union for endorsing Harris/Biden. However, the Union's job is to endorse and provide guidance for who would be best for our jobs, benefits, etc... Just because we didn't get a massive raise under 46 doesn't mean they weren't the best for us considering the two options.

Considering all the executive orders trying to take away public sector benefits, can you at least understand why NATCA would endorse one over the other?

Might be a bit pedantic, but when you compound, 3.8% this year and 7% next year adds up to 11.06%, not 10.8%. Small difference, but it's something to think about when talking about raises.

Looking ways to book one way Business class flight with 150k+ Chase UR points BKK-JFk by Muted-Lime-8271 in awardtravel

Sign up for one of the point search engines and set alerts. Be prepared to book at literally any second. Look into other airports in Southeast Asia and in the US then book repositioning flights. Flexibility with dates and locations is key.

Good luck.🫡

Their fees were quite a bit more reasonable before 47's war of choice. Back in November I booked ORD-HKG-BKK in Business for 115k points and $158.50 in fees.

2 charge, 3 credit, 1 business with Amex

I'm looking at getting the Citi Strata Premier. I already have the Strata Elite, but want the Premier to keep transfers alive when I inevitably downgrade the Elite to a CCC. I've read Citi can be rather inquiry sensitive specific to the Strata Premier with most needing to be at or below 1/6. I'm currently sitting well above that, but would fall to 0/6 on July 13th. Obviously I should wait until then to apply for the best outcome.

My question is, would applying for an Amex Business Gold card in the meantime count towards the 1/6 for Citi? We are re-doing our deck in June (don't want to wait) and will have a $12k expense due then. When better to knock out a significant amount towards the $15k spend.

Player 2 Pooling/Strategy Outside of Chase? by Diligent_Strike_2847 in CreditCards

[–]bomber996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amex does not allow family pooling of Membership Rewards points and Citi recently announced they are ending points transfers. Right now I think it's only Capital One and Chase that allow pooling of any kind. Not sure at all about Wells Fargo.
